There is a light facelift in Q4-2016 because of the introduction of new emission standard in EU and US. This will be the last modification before rolling out the next GTS. The all- GTS will be presented at the EICMA in November 2017 and will be available in 2018 - this is all the information I have.

Ehh. Still happily riding my '08. Can't complain, so I won't.

Oh...It's paid for, making it better than any new model, regardless of the spec's and features.

About time.
I didn't enjoy my GTS and sold it for the Sprint which handles way better with a stiffer chassis.

Mine was paid for the day I drive it off the dealer lot.

I hope it doesn't follow the Primavera and the 946 in having the "raised ass" look:

I like it on the 946 but not on the Primavera and I think it would look bad on a large-frame Vespa and I really like how the GTS tends to be a little bit more tapered and straight in the back.

It reminds me a lot of the PX and why break what's not broken?

This anything like all the rumors in 2014 that we were going to see a GTS with a 350 engine in 2015? Seems like Piaggio is pretty good at keeping a secret. I suspect we will see a redesign of the GTS whenever Paiggio is ready to release one, and it will have whichever engine Piaggio thinks is appropriate. And BTW, I am enjoying the heck out of my 300ABS.

I've heard that they will develop a new motor for the new GTS rather than try to modify the frame with a longer wheelbase to fit the 350. Thus, I would expect it to be between 300 and 330cc with a 10% horsepower gain from current and still riding on 12 inch wheels. Expect it to morph in appearance like the LX did when it was replaced by the Primavera. Which means there is probably a new GTS in my future in two years.

I thought I read on this forum the motor will be based on the BV350. Makes sense, as it's a tested Piaggio design.

Outride, the Primavera takes design cues from vintage smallframes. The GT series has always looked to me like it's taking design cues from vintage largeframes, P series bikes, maybe more like the SS 180 below. Point being, small frame design should stay different from GT design, I hope.

The 350 engine seems like it was meant to replace the Quasar in a lot of applications, and it has, sort of. Piaggio usually puts new engines in their entry level bikes and sorts out the kinks before installing them in Vespa models. To date, the 350 still has a lot of reliability issues that would make it's appearance in a Vespa model doubtful. If Piaggio does what they have in the past, the 350 will probably serve as a stepping off point for bigger engines, and the Vespa GTS is ideally suited for a modern 250-300cc engine. It's not a 100 MPH frame.
I don't know if they will fix it or start over with a different design, but it's very unlikely Piaggio will stick a new engine in the Vespa GTS without trying it out in the Piaggio lineup first. I wouldn't be surprised if liquid cooling comes to the 125-150 range of Vespas before a new engine appears in the GTS.

Was the Leader tried out in the Piaggio line-up before going into the GT200? Was the Quasar tried out before going into the GTS?

I think the new iGet engine will end up in the GTS. In several articles I have seen it has said it will be made in larger capacities than the current 125/150 configuration. I have ridden the new Medley 125, it was a very nice scooter and the engine was smooth, quiet and responsive. I belive a version of the 125 is already fitted to the Sprint/Primavera. This engine obviously fits the GTS better than the unit in the BV350, as long as it makes at least the current (Euro4) 21.5 bhp it could be any size from 200 -300cc. The article below gives a good summary of the iGet.

The HPE engine has much larger valves, same as the Malossi head. It also has the new camshaft which is very similar the Malossi's. So there is a lot more performance. The air-filter and exhaust have been re-designed. There is also a new transmission - variator and belt.

The Germans and Austrians who already have them rave over them. Very powerful, smooth and very quiet. These guys, wsh have been riding GTSs for years, are now getting out in freezing weather to ride their new scoots, with great big grins on their faces.

I'm told it will be a year before we see them here in Australia.

I have the 2018 GTS 150 in Greece, and I agree it is an excellent ride and yes like it was said in the previous comment, you do just want to get it out and go for a ride whatever the weather and it certainly does put a smile on your face.
