Hi Not sure how common this is or not. 1969 Sprint takes forever to start. 20 plus kick starts with choke out. Once its started and idles for a couple of minutes, Its fine on restarts usually a kick or two. Any suggestions how to speed up the starting process?

Thanks in advance,

What is the condition of the motor ? How are the points and what is the gap ? condition of the condenser ? What is the timing set at ? Have you ever done a pressure test to check the condition of the seals ? With all that information I'm sure you'll get your answer.

Slow starting
Like Amy said...need more info.
1. Check the compression: first thing I would check. Any engine that is low on compression will have a hard time starting. Scott

Condenser and compression. A new plug capped correctly won't harm.
