Hi everyone. This fall I bought a 2013 Vespa GTS 300, and even had a chance to ride it for some time until it got too cold here in MD. Now I have plenty of time to read about technical specs and potential mods for my Vespa. Hope to learn from you folks!
Regards,
Heath.

Are you sure it is a 300? That front horn cover with the running light normally came out on the 250, but there were variations from country to country. I love that colour blue. Happy riding!

While I posted the pictures here, let me ask you something real quick. I cannot say I am happy about the light quality. So I thought of replacing the bulb with something brighter (perhaps an LED bulb, or just better halogen bulb). Alternatively, I consider replacing the whole headlight unit with an led light that has got a built-in led an lens (something not too expensive, just an affordable Daymaker alternative, like this one or perhaps you will recommend something from your experience).
Can you folks please comment on this? I just want good light output and want to be sure my electric system won't go mad because of different resistance.
Thanks!!!

Hey Mike, the VIN says it is 2013 300 GTS. Maybe that's something specific for 2013, I don't know for sure haha. This scooter is still new to me.
I appreciate the warm welcome, sir!

Welcome from up north. Grab looking scoot, enjoy!

You can get replacement headlight kits - Here is one.

https://www.scooterwest.com/led-h4-headlight-kit-for-vespa-gt-gts-super-300-sprint-150-primavera-150.html

Assuming you're talking about the night lamp and not the daytime running lamp? I'm sure a few here have done headlight mods, I live in a very urban environment so it doesn't bother me that much as there is usually a fair amount of lighting even at night.

Might consider the Phillips Extreme Vision H4 Halogen bulb. It has same service life as a regular H4, draws the same yet much more lumens. Be careful when you take the plastic apart around the mirrors and HL, etc.. Might want to view some videos even if your handy with wrenches as it could save a broken plastic tab.
I switched my indicators over to switchback LED's so all stay on as white running lights with amber flashers too. The rear ones have red bulbs which flash 4 times then stay red if brakes are on. All brake lights are now LED, brighter and flash same 4 times via a modulator.
Have fun with the new scoot.

I appreciate the warm welcome and recommendations! I believe I will start with a regular Philips bulb as you folks said. Later on I may upgrade to LED. Good to know that LEDs won't throw error codes on the Vespa.
Cheers!

Interesting, I had thought the horn cover with the light was only on the 250. I like that horn cover a lot - thought about swapping it in for the one on my GT. Do you find that this light actually does any good in lighting the road, or mostly just looks cool?

Alright. Officially confused. This same bike was listed on CycleTrader in Rhode Island- I almost bought it! (See thread ďWhat to buy, what to buy...) I messaged the owner and they said they were the only owner of the bike. Did you buy it from Rhode Island? Thatís where it was listed for. Sounds like I almost got scammed, unless you have another explanation?

Either way, welcome to MV from Las Vegas! Hereís to many, many miles on that beauty once it warms up out there!

I ride a gt 200. Have no issues with the headlight. I donít do a lot of long rides in the dark, tho. Just 15 miles home after work, or down town.
All the big frame Vespas are great rides. Youíre gonna like it more than you know.......

Welcome from Minnesota
Heath,

Your scoot is one of my favorite colors. Also, thanks for the photo.
I say this often, if you get a chance, check out "CheekySeats.com" You can really style up your machine with there covers that go right over your existing seat. Most are $100 or less.

I am a fan too. Their products are great. I go mine years ago and they look brand new. They are also experimenting with embroidery.
