I am trying to get an old ET125 running. Have stripped the carb, cleaned with carb spray and airline and put back together. Carb is Walbro WVF and label on autochoke lead says it's a 6e but nothing on actual carb

Carb back on but not happy. Can only get to run on choke which would suggest clogged pilot jet. Stripped down again and can only see the tiniest pin prick of light through the pilot jet. No number anywhere on jet but Haynes manual suggests it should be 32 in which case jet aperture should be 0.32mm. Can't get a 0.16 guitar string through it.

Wondering whether stick in some kind of solvent bath or take a 0.3mm drill to it?

Would buy a replacement but cannot find Walbro pilot jets anywhere

Any help greatly appreciated

I'd start with solvent certainly.
A drill bit, hand held, will often go over-size and out of round.
Leave the jet in solvent overnight. Push the pin through tomorrow.

Use jet drills, I've had these once since the 80's when I was turning wrenches on bikes.

Boil jets in microwave.

Prob sorted and got to admit to a schoolboy error. Neglected the fact guitar string gauges are in thous of inch so was trying to get too fat a wire through the jet anyway!!!

Soaked it, sprayed it through with carb cleaner then air (used the shoe cleaner compresser at the golf club ). Did same on main jet and all pathways through carb

Back on, fired up, job's a goodun!
