so Frank Robinson died today, did not see any posts about this. An amazing baseball player, the first black coach, and so much more. Baseball is what it is based on players like him. RIP Mr. Frank Robinson you have made an amazing place in our lives.

RIP, Frank. Interesting side note, Frank Robinson grew up in Oakland and played basedball with Vada Pinson (his teammate in Cincy) and basketball with Bill Russell.

While Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in MLB, it was players like Frank Robinson, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks and Roberto Clemente that made players of color the leading players on their respective teams. We won't see a group like that ever again.
