Well, after 9 years in a love / hate relationship with my MP3, on Saturday I finally decided to take the plunge, sell my 250 and buy a 2nd hand Peugeot Metropolis, 5 years old with 8000 miles on the clock. Initial thoughts after the mainly motorway 130 mile journey back from London is that it loves m-way riding, and feels very planted in some very strong winds!

I always felt like the 250 MP3 was a bit underpowered for the motorway, and I feel like I've found a more suitable machine for me

Pity there isn't Modern Pug forum out there somewhere

Nice looking scooter. Glad to hear you are enjoying it. In fairness, I think most would agree that the MP3 250 is somewhat underpowered. A 520 lb bike with a 22 hp engine seems like the wrong match up IMO. (and I once owned one so I'm not coming down on you - I went from that 250 to a BV 350 and was blown away by the effect of the increased power and reduced weight)

Congrats on what is a new ride to you. Glad you're enjoying it!

I'm with Dooglas in that there really isn't a comparison to be made. The Peugeot is a 400 CC? That would make a big difference over a 250. I'm sure the larger MP3 would also manage the freeway just as well and probably better.

Don't mean to be negative though. Glad you love the ride and I'm sure the extra horses are adding up to more fun. I always kinda wonder why Piaggio even makes the smaller MP3 as it's not a little bike.
