Hi Pulled a scoot out the corner of the shed that was put away running about 6 months ago.

It started easily.idles nice.....but just will not rev out...scoot gets to about half its normal speed on the open road and wont go any faster.

Cleaned carb. new plug......with exactly the same symptom after so logic says its not those.

Brakes are NOT stuck on

Could it be the old gas?

Could be old gas...and could be mice in the air filter.

Fuel issues
My guess with no other info....would be water in the fuel. Siphon out the old and put in some new fuel. Easy and quick. Scott

Good call. Check it out to be sure it's clear. Shouldn't be a problem unless there's dino 2T oil in the past. A sludge or, I suppose, mouse clogged muff will give you the symptoms described - idles OK but won't wind up.

Either way, whatever the cause, stop wondering and siphon out the fuel. you can put it in your car or truck that has a large fuel tank and use it up that way. Gasoline starts turning to varnish in 3 months without a fuel stabilizer added.

Does it rev out on the stand? Is the slide opening all the way?
