Iíve been riding Michelin tires. Rear is shot, probably time for a front too. Hated the Sava. Whatís everyone suggest?

I think the consensus here is with Michelin City Grips. Been running them for over 11K miles myself, have a new set to replace both again.

Don't know anybody voting for Savas....no surprises, eh?

Just looked at your avatar...you've been around for a bit!

+1 on the City Grips, I have used them for quite a while now.

And yeah, the Savas sucked.

Another vote on the Michelin City Grips. Good grip, comfortable ride, and no issues (so far) with grooved road surfaces.

I've run City Grips on 6 different scooters. They are an excellent general purpose scooter tire.

I buy most of my tires from bikebandit.com, then bring the wheels, off the scooter, to a local motorcycle dealer for mounting.

I like Revzilla and they've often got good prices.

Recently got a pair from Dennis Kirk at a competitive price.

Then do what JKJ does.

How do I choose size for front and rear? Is it just a standard tire size for a GTS?

Standard size.

Or you can read off the tires already mounted....

Don't have them memorized, but Search function here, and Google are your friends....

Pay attention to the load / speed index, especially for the rear tire, since the GTS is heavier at the back...
Front: 120/70-12 51P
Rear: 130/70-12 62P

I have run Michelin Power Pure tires for the past five or six years. Probably at least ten rear tires and five fronts.

I started on them because I wanted to try a 140 width on the rear. Michelin doesnít offer City Grips in that width, so I went with the PP.

I put a City Grip on the Xmax recently, as they donít make a Power Pure in that size. It feels great too.

Both are very good tires.

Tire Sources
Agree Revzilla and Bikebandit are good.

I also cross shop Chapmoto and Dennis Kirk for the best deal with shipping.

Amazon fronts for several reputable sources and, if you're a Prime member, shipping is free.

Side note: Sometimes when you order tires online and bring them to a motorcycle dealership to get them installed (wheels off the scooter) it will be a higher price, because you got the tires from someone else. My dealership charges $25 off the scooter/bought from them $50 off the scooter/not from them. Plus, if the tire that was ordered from online is old, a blem or some other defect, its 100% your problem since the dealer didnt order it. Just putting that out there. Its not like you buy tires all the time. I like having the dealer support and warranty myself.

And make sure your tire fitters machine goes down to 12" wheels, and if it does they USE IT! My local dealer used tire bars on my Buddy 50 rims and dinged both of them. They rims are steel, the dings are very minor but I never had any issues before. The "new guy" figured it would be faster to do them by hand instead of swapping the machine over. Now I stand over whoever is doing my tires! No more dings!
