So I am in the Chicago area and while it is almost the middle of May, it is still cold and wet. Now I will admit I may be a bit of a wimp as I do not like riding in cold and wet conditions, but this weather is just miserable and does not appear to be changing in the near future. I have hardly ridden at all. Don't need any comments, I just had to vent. I hope others are getting better weather and more riding. I may have to put my Vespa back on the trickle charger.

Central Illinois and it’s not much better. River is up, levee is closed to all traffic and is being checked several times a day. Bank sent out notice about safety deposit boxes. GTS is still in bike shed, needs valve lash check and I can do that and have the new gasket but it’s staying cool, if it gets warm it’s while I am at work. Have 2 scooters on the bike patio, and ride to work on days I can but sure don’t get much riding time on weekends, rains expected again today, furnace and I still have issues, and watching scooter videos on YouTube is not the same as riding.

Rain almost every weekend, but if it dont rain then its muggy hot. Weather has been crazy lately. This is our payback for ducking snow last winter.

In the mountains of North Carolina where I live I believe it has rained every weekend for the last 2 months. We could get 4 inches between now and Sunday.

Today is a beautiful day in Boston, 64 and sunny. I'm going for a ride, but the window is short... next few days are forecast as mid 40s and rainy.

This crappy wet cool weather puts a damper on my youth baseball umpiring season, there's always a makeup game or a reschedule.

Not just in the mountains in NC, down in Charlotte area too. A rainy Winter and Spring: for the last 30 weekends, 26 have had rain, 2 had at least one day of rain, 2 were sunny and clear. This weekend is a bust with 90% today, 70% for tomorrow. Next weekend is supposed to be better. I think I'll get back into kayaking.

When I lived in South Florida we had a saying: Do you know what comes after two days of rain? Answer: Monday.

South Florida here and it literally rained every day for 5 or 6 days straight from the day I bought mine. Another Florida saying, if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes... Which is normally true.

Arizona here, and (we?) I love this weather. It's raining, can't ride? Who cares, it's raining! 72F in Phoenix now, can't beat that for mid-May.

Rain stopped me because I literally have nowhere to go right now. I just go scootin for fun, and the rain kind of hinders that.

I took a ride up to Ludlow VT. last week and it looked like you could still ski on many of the trails, it was a great ride.

Breckenridge has had 30” of snow in the last couple of weeks, 8 of 11 of which has been in the last few days for a total of 434” so far this season. In Houston we’ve had flash flood warning since our return from Scotland last Weds. Though it is supposed to have sunshine tomorrow but thunderstorms again starting Tuesday for the next week.

I still need to get the green Vespa in for its speedo replacement before the warranty expires as soon as I get the trailer up in Breckenridge.

Yes it sucks, it is Mothers day May 12, and it is cold dank and raining here in NYC.
Last year (2018), between Memorial day in May and Labor day in September, there were no two consecutive weekends when it did not rain.
This spring we have had rain and cold pretty much a cooler spring than ever before.
I am hoping that we have some consecutive dry weekends or else it is going to be another year where I wont get to work on the vespa.
Lets hope it will be warm and dry.

I am bitchin, it is freaking May 14th, it is 47F & raining here in NYC. I was stupid to have taken of the muffs, the termoscud and the windshield( well it was broken). Now I am riding in cold weather & it feels lousy. When do we get a break.
Just sayin, not complainin just bitchin.

Same crappy weather here in Toronto. I've mostly been sticking to the BMW for the larger windscreen and heated grips/seat. Since the skirts have come off the bikes the rain gear has seen a lot of use. I've worn my regular riding gloves twice and would like to be nice to be able to use something that doesn't say Gore-Tex.

It Has been a Tough Year So Far!
Cold and raining for the last two weeks. My riding group had good weather luck for our first ride 4/20/19. We have our fingers crossed for this Saturday.

Here in VT we had about 3 inches of snow starting around 1500 ft elevation. This getting old real fast. Hopefully things will be improving towards the end of the week.

Finally nice out. Quoting you baba12 as I'm sure you can relate being from NYC. It is finally beautiful after another rainy day. Had an appointment on the north side of town. Took me 1. 5 *(^&%*&*%! hours to ride home in what should be a 15 minute ride! That is WITH filtering.... SO instead of enjoying the ride I am home all stressed out and on my second scotch....

Hopefully the good weather sticks around for the weekend... I may be asking for too much though....

Also why I pay the insane premium of living in the downtown core as no way in Hades could I do this everyday as much as I may enjoy the podcast playing on the Sena.

It just showered lightly today and temps were up to a balmy 63, oh, central IL is not getting fields planted, rivers are still high and I still have not worked on the GTS Valve stuff, or got the furnace problems resolved. But I have hopes of riding soon, or I’ll be going stark raving crazy!

The weather has sucked so bad, until today....
Today it's great out, sunny with some clouds, breezy but not windy.
Warm, but not the summery-maybe-a-little-too-warm-thanks-but-could-you-cool-it? warm.
In fewer words, about the first day *excellent* for a ride.

So I skipped out on work.

Ha! Don't blame you I can skip out of work 9 days out of 10 by noon and I think I plan on that for the next nice day. If I get caught though I worry about the circumstances, I hear the boss is a real SOB

TBH I tell all the team if they aren't booked I don't care where they are as long as they have their notebook with them and are checking emails/texts. They do need to be within reasonable distance of downtown Toronto though in case there is an emergency onsite but that still leaves a lot of flexibility. So they can be out walking their dogs or home doing laundry etc, I don't care as long as they follow the rules.

Yes I pay for the tethering plan and iPhones plus we pay milage/parking. Milage is of course paid from the starting point being HO. They also get a bike share membership for zipping around which works great.

We are happy to have rain this year in SoCal. I just want it to fall on days other than Wednesday or Thursday, which are my long scooter commute days.

The weather has been quite uncooperative in this regard.

So this week, long after the rainy season should be over - time for May Gray and June Gloom in my neck of the woods - it's going to rain on one day this week.

You guessed it: Thursday!

We would like some of your rain over here. The drought continues, and I suppose that makes good riding weather, but its been going on for so long that now we are importing wheat from Canada.

Maybe we can also send you some of our rain? We seem to have plenty of it.

My GT is currently out of commission as I wait on a part to arrive (thankfully, it should be coming today). Of course, the weather has been insanely perfect (mid-70s, sunny) as the scoot sits. I share your commiseration.

I live in Latina, in the middle of the Italian peninsula near the sea (5 km) and it rains a lot here and it's still cold; i still light the stove (here we use pellets). Calculate that this year i turned on the house heating in mid-November and until now i have consumed 140 bags (15 kg each) equal to € 700. Forty more than the other years ..!
Going on a scooter is like taking a few illnesses, then i also have some rheumatism ...
If any of you come on holiday here better from the first days of June. :

"California just went from 85 to 55 like it saw Highway patrol" A college friend just posted this on FB and I about died. 2 days ago it was 85. Now it's 55 and raining?! Snow in Lake Tahoe and the Mountains. So extended ski season continues into almost June.

So much for Sunny Italy. Funny, I'd expect nicer weather. Even Germany by this time can be quite pleasant. Maybe the sea isn't the best neighbor this time of year?

Here, it's 70 degrees and sunny. Beautiful day, but I know it can't last. Can't ride tomorrow anyway, so let it rain!

Woke in Breckenridge to sunshine so figured I'd move a few things around to be able to get the scooters our, take them off the winter chargers, air up the tires. Before I could even get the first of that list done snow started falling. Only a quarter inch accumulation but forecast is snow 5 of the next 6 days.

Well, that's the subtle headline for the next couple of days here. Supposed to start tonight while we're sleeping. Watch the news.

It's been unusually wet for this part of Texas since Winter ended. Very green around here.

Looks like a mild windy year cycle starting. We get a couple of years of high heat, drought, and light winds, then a couple of years of rain, moderate temps, and 30 mph winds for days at a time. El Nino, I think. Shaping up to be windy this year.

Been running errands on the GTS on mild days, but using the cage when it's real windy or raining.

At Last, a Good Day
And, by "good", I mean the weather is grand, and I (among a few others) was free to actually enjoy it.

Met up with fellow Chaos Crew members in Long Branch this morning, as our previous plans for a longer ride were scrubbed a few days back on account of a seafood fest and surfing event in a town along our planned route this weekend. (Tell me this hasn't happened to you.) I recommended we start with brunch at a favorite spot near my house…in fact, directly across the street, the only establishment within a mile to or from the beach. Chowing down along the lake amongst the ducks and geese, catching up on one another's lives, and, yeah, talking scooters. We followed that up with a ride to Vespa/Indian/Zero of Monmouth to hang, chat, and ogle the bikes there (quite a bit of new stuff, including the Electtrica – the got two, but had one sold even before they arrived.

I've officially forgotten all about Winter…for now.

This season have been colder than normal also here.

Today was the first warm day... and it happened to be Saturday!

So, did some work in the garden, walked the dog and... went for a 2 hours lazy ride around country side, the first proper ride this spring!
