Riding the Amtrak Surfliner from LA to San Siego. First order of business is to have lunch with Wayne (parts department) and Robot (Vespa legend).

Will post pics when possible.

Super cool Jet!
How did this lunch come about ? Did you just call and ask if they wanted to go to lunch ? Or something more complicated ?

It appears some of us underestimate the powers of the Jet Peddler.

Customer offers to take me to lunch I go. I am all about FREE FOOD.
Use to go to work on Friday to get breakfast barrito and I wasn't even on shift. Then they switched it to Barrito Weds when I am on shift.

Don't blame you, people like free stuff . I turn away free stuff all the time but mostly because I prefer my own company and I've learnt there is no such thing as a free meal as often I get a sales pitch to go along with it. My lead tech though yeah he's all about it and he's gotten so much free stuff that was offered to me it's not funny. It has got to the point they don't ask me to lunch but rather ask me if it's OK they take him to lunch...

I was thinking of doing the same thing Amtrak and visit-wise less the lunch inclusion.

Have fun!

In most cases I have already gone above and beyond the call of duty for them. My customers love me and I put up with them

Have fun JP! I assume you are doing this for your YouTube channel which seems to be doing well. Must be keeping you busy because we don't see you in these parts nearly as much anymore.

Have been hanging out at Scooter West for a couple hours now. Ate lunch at an amazing place called Lucha Libre with Wayne of the parts department. Robot (Jeff) was planning on going with us but was behind making shop videos, so he got left out. Will be getting an in depth tour by either Wayne or the owner in a bit, so hope to make a YouTube video out of it.

I had it the wrong way around..I was hoping you would have a cameo in one of Robot's videos.

Got a great tour of Vespa Motorsport by none other than Robot himself. About 30 mins worth of video as well. I’ll let you know when I get things uploaded and posted. May be a while.

Everyone at VM was fantastic and nice as can be. Very friendly folks.

I'm looking forward to seeing the videos Jet. Did you try peddling them a corporate Jet? or trading one for several dozen HPE's

Be great to see a similar video of VSO too if you are so inclined- hint, hint.

Thanks.

Best

I'm going to guess it's got to be 2-stroke. Castrol shaken not stirred.

Cool! Though I'm not sure what I would do with those as I like Robot and all but I can't see myself proudly displaying a Robot sticker. Actually maybe on a tool kit would be cool.

Hope you had a great time JP. Sounds like you did.

How are there no pics posted yet?!:-p At least a pic of the Robot sticker, easy to do even from a mobile phone.

Videos won’t be up for a while as I’ll be traveling another 12 days. Here’s a photo of Wayne in a Robot t-shirt to tide you over though!

We’re currently at the Padres game. Padres up 1-0 over Pittsburgh. Bottom o’ the fourth.

A Japanese super-hottie across the aisle.

Does this make me a stalker or just an admirer of the human art form?

Just out of curiosity, what would the other 4 pillars of Vespa-ism be? Scooters West and the Paggio factory in Italy would be two. What are the other three to put on my bucket list?

Well, don't know the official answer , but once around Pontedera, Italy it's a short hop to Modena. There's a yearly Malossi race event for scooters... never been there myself, but I've heard that it's quite something. It's a proper bike race, with sound and speed and fearless riders... it even had a "SprintMatic" series dedicated to competition Vespa Sprints, not sure if that's still on.
