Hi Guys!

Long time, no talk to!

Having trouble with the old MP3.
Just for memory refresh, it is a 2009 400cc, 65K miles.

It was running fine last year when I had to park it. Put in a brand new MotoBatt Battery in April 2018.

Have had some medical issues which forced me to store it since April 2018, but it has been on a battery tender.

When I try to start it, there is a strange buzzing like sound, and the headlights flash. When I let off the start button, there is a long 5 second beep, followed by 1 or 2 seconds of silence, then the long beep again until I turn the key off.

Anyone have this issue before and know what the cause is? I cannot believe that it could be that battery, though I havent measured voltage yet. The scoot ran just fine with the new battery when I last rode it a year ago.

Measure that voltage! I bet the Motobatt has died. They don't seem to like being on a tender for long periods.

Thanks JimC.
As bad as that sucks, since I only got about 3 weeks usage out of that Motobatt, if that is the problem I will be totally happy.
I didnt know they did not like being on a tender for an extended amount of time. Here I thought I was doing something right by having it on a tender in the first place!
Oh well, I will give it a test and see what happens.

Just an update.
Had a Yuasa Battery that was purchased about 2 months before the Motobatt.
Charged up the Yuasa, popped it in the scoot, and voila! Scoot came to life!.
Lesson learned. Motobatt batteries do not like being on maintainers for an extended amount of time.
Glad that is what the problem was.
Thanks JimC!
