Just picked up a 1979 p200e thinking about getting the vespatronics for a brighter headlight, hotter spark, and easier starting. I'm also going to quietly search for an electric start case reasonably. Anyone have experience with the vespatronics on an old p200e?

Welcome to the forum.
I have a variable ignition on my P200 motor that's similar to a vespatronics. I did not have any type of ignition to begin with and the motor is in a GL so I leaned toward something other then stock. Works fine once installed correctly.
The stock ignition for a p200e is OK and does what its suppose to do. What's wrong with your ignition setup now?
Good luck on that electric start p200 motor. That will take patient, time, cash, and prob shipping from over seas. Why do you want an electric start motor?.

Welome!

Yeah... hopefully you can get your engine sorted and not have to do some crazy swap or conversion.

I've done several of these with Pinasco and Malossi. They all come with the same stator, hub, and CDI; just different bells and whistles. You will have to change out the CDI to a common 4 pole CDI (generally supplied with the ignition kit or go with BGM type) and some minor wiring. I can walk you through it all as well as have the Pinasco kits in stock.

all the best,

SIP Vape. It comes in 4 types. AC or DC, static or variable timing, 120W stator in all versions and with standalone spare parts (pickup coil, CDI, etc.)...

The main reason I wanted brighter lights and hotter spark(mostly for a brighter light though). I also wanted to put usb port and cigarette lighter port. We like to ride decent distances on our scooters and phone charging is a must.

Well, if you decide to go with a "Vespatronic" style stator, all of them will send 12VAC out to the lights. If you want DC to your headlight and to a 12VDC AUX port, you'll have to pull the 12DC directly from your battery. The SIP VAPE is the only unit that i'm aware of that can be hooked up to be used as direct 12VDC power to lights and accessories.
