Hi All,

I've looked around the forum and can't see if anyone has had this problem.

I have a MP3 500 sport 2016, my low beam headlight, hazard light and number plate light are not working. The high beam comes on when I press the switch and the indicators are working. Would it just be a fuse? I had a look in the manual but I can't work out which fuse it would be.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you check the bulbs first?

If they all failed at the same time, it's almost certainly a fuse. Fuse no.4 (15A) looks like the one from this 2015 wiring diagram:

Hi reticulum

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did, the fact that they all stopped working at the same time makes me think it might be something other than the bulbs.

Hi, on my MP3-400 I had the same happen. With all four fuses on the 400 grouped together and not clearly identifiable, I purchased four new fuses and replaced all of them. Thinking that if one fuse has failed, the others are likely to do so... so bought fuses and replaced them all.

Hi Marcus

Did you replace all the ones by the foot rest? Or the ones near the battery.

Hello Matt,
Sorry, I have confused the issue. I had the 'relay' which controls the lights fail rather than the fuse and replaced all four relays - if you go to the service manual for the 400 in the Wiki section and go to page ELE-SYS 55 you'll see what I'm talking about. On the 400 the four relays are under the front cowl area below the windscreen.

Why was I thinking fuse? When the headlight failed and did what yours is doing all the fuses were checked and found to be okay and so it was then onto sorting out the relay. Trying to find which relay was difficult and so I first bought one new relay and removed one at a time to test with the new relay. Once the headlights were fixed, I decided to replace all the relays because I thought "If one's gone, the others will follow, especially as you have to take panels off to replace them!"

Might be worth checking the relays as well. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Hi Marcus

Thanks for letting me know, replacing the relays are beyond my skill set, replacing fuses is my limit. It doesnít matter though as I discovered this morning that someone had hit my bike last night. Not too badly damaged, just a broken indicator light and the wheels are out of alignment. So I think Iíll just get my local dealer sort it all out at the same time. Thanks for your help anyway.

Hi,
Sorry to hear that. Did they do the right thing and leave details? Or was it more, "I'll just go cause no one saw anything"?

All the best with getting things sorted so you're back on the road soon.

Cheers,
Mark
