Hello everyone,..
Can i have your opinions/thoughts regarding trying to obtain the flattest-thinnest rear light/s possible for the px ????

I have a sip style seat fitted,....and as you know the standard light sticks out like a sore thumb,....

In hindsite i should have done the necessary work to accommodate the sip tunnel system (during my build),...

Has anyone fitted/seen double round LED'S (that would be my preferred sort of option),...

All responses appreciated,...
pek,...

Are you referring to the SIP tunnel lights? If so, I haven't used them personally, but I've seen them in person. When riveted on, they were on the unimpressive side of things. I suppose if you welded them in, and did the proper body and paint work, then they'd look great.

I've installed different versions of double lights on the back of a couple different P's that I've had. I don't have any pics at the moment thought.

Thanks whodatschrome,...yes correct I was referring to the sip tunnel lights,...
Think out of the question now to be able to fit them correctly as you mentioned without messing up paintwork,.... and thanks regarding your thoughts in that riveting on looks poor,.
If any pics do turn up I'd be interested to see them,...

Any other ideas/thoughts/ pics very welcome

Not LED but I've seen a few PXs with ET4 tail lights that look ok.

Not tunnel lights, it here's one that the LED taillights are fairly flush. They're wired up for running/brake/turn.

Another option is to completely get rid of your single center taillight assembly. Using a converter box, wire up the turn signals in your cowls for dual function running/brake/turn. The converter box will undoubtedly require 12VDC power, so you'll probably have to do some custom wiring to make it happen. With the holes that are left in the frame where the taillight assembly used to be, you would probably want to cover it with something...maybe a license plate light?...maybe a license plate?...maybe an emblem of some sorts?...an arial whip?...a simple sticker?...maybe just a rubber plug?

Here's a pic of my PK that I've wired up the cowl turn signals into multi function running/brake/turn signals.

Cheers very much again for the responses,
some good ideas there/ very interesting,..

Yes Bobo looking back through old editions of scootering magazine, it looks/seemed to be the default option on street racer type builds to fit a ET4 rear light,...
currently looking at a pair of 60mm diameter round led's,..10mm thick.

Agreed. Somehow that color combo looks spot on!

My favorite part is how the centerstand isn't being used in the pic.

Hi There
I fitted this rear light to my PX...

You will need to block off the original hole for the mounts and the electrical cables of the original light..

Cheers very much Robbie 11, for your response,..
What a cracking looking scooter you have there, lovely colour !!!!

Great bit of imagination regarding your tail light,.very stylish,...

I'm thinking more of a flattish as possible to frame sort of finish for mine,.(double round),...
I have found a pair that i will try/offer up and see how they look,..
If when fitted i'm happy with the outcome i will share pics for those interested,

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts/responses,..

I'm not sure that's quite my taste, but that's some damn nice workmanship by someone.

Even though I'm the the throes of motor hell right now, this thread has me thinking about how to do turn signals on my GL when I finally get around to it, since it will be a ground-up rebuild, I'll have some options since I'll be replacing everything, including the wiring harness.

GL Blinkers
Chandlerman: Here's an idea for blinkers from a friend's SS180. See those little brackets and bolt-lights under the headset, and small silver pegs at bottom of the tail. Both blinkers, wired to handlebar switch on shifty side.

That's a really good idea. Basically invisible when not in use, too.

And a sharp looking bike all around. I love the contrast of patina and new paint. I need to replace the cowls on mine (the engine side has a sprint cowl and the clutch side is rusted through on the bottom), so that could work well for me. I just have to get a crease out of the legshield and I could be good-to-go...

Wheels start to churn...

Churn those wheels!
I like the patina + fresh paint look too, it got me thinking as well. I have an SS waiting in line to be worked on. I'm still collecting parts, as it was/is a (bit) of a basket case. But I'm getting closer...

These do look good on the Pseries. Square angular lines fit the body style well. Although not flush, its streamlined and keeps a vintage flair

Whilst the original tail light isn't very pretty, it's suits the style of the scoot. I don't think any of the lights here are an improvement. Reckon a rally tail light would look ok. Just my opinion.

The thing is that Pecker (the OP) has a SIP style seat (I'm guessing one of those fiberglass or carbon SIP seats?). I'm not sure the direction of his build, but if he's going after the German "street racer" look, some sort of flush mount lights are the way to go. If that isn't his build, then yeah, go with a stock taillight.

Those taillights look great on that all red PX Pecker! I guess I should have posted up a picture of one of my other PX's that have pretty much the exact same taillights that you installed on yours. Do you have any pictures of the from of the scooter? I'd like to see that SLUK screen!
