I've just agreed to buy a Silver 2003 GT200 with 16,000 miles.

Stick
I'll probably leave it standard.

Maybe paint the wheels.

A sticker or two.

I reckon thats way too far to ride a GT. Nope, can't be done. Pretty much impossible.

I am pleased to see you giving Vespa another try.

I have been very pleased with my three GTs.

They are not perfect, but maintenance is easy.

And they are so much fun to ride.

I hope it works out for you.

There are regular cargo ships that cross to Israel from Italy and Greece. Motorcyclist tourists regularly book passage.

Peace
Thank you all for your positive comments.

I was actually looking for one and one came up at the right price and condition so it was hard to say no.

I owned one when I moved up from a ET4 and I should never have sold it.

I'll take some pics when after I collect it on the 17th.

It's not perfect but that's OK as it's mechanicals are more important than the aesthetics this time.

Yeah I'm looking forward to returning to the fold.

I've got plans for it but I'm struggling for a name so far.

Oh, I think I have it.

The Hornet is still going strong, and my daily transport while I'm over here in the UK.

Good choice Bill Dog, I love my Sofia. She bursts into life every time, is fun to ride and easy to look after. I did a "Silver Level" riding cours here with a 300cc Yamaha bike and a Suzuki 150 Hustler and I thought Sofia might struggle to keep up, but no trouble. She even responded nicely to hanging the knee out (in the most gentle manner). Enjoy her, and look after yourself.

List
I'll admit for me it was an interesting choice after moving away from the brand but as the GT200's were the best built out of the GT/S's series I'm going to be very interested to see how this one works out.

I'm looking forward to it.

I've just had a Tax Rebate of about $1000.

Cost of the Vespa- not much less.

Nice.

Halt
Well, it was all looking good until I went looking for Insurance.

Try to understand this

I'm a 54 year old rider with 37 years riding experience and 10 years no claims discount so for me

A 2019 Benelli TNT125 is valued at $2750 and fully comp cover is $187.50

A 2019 Kymco AK550 is valued at $8.750 and fully comp cover is $321.25

A 15 year old 2003 Vespa GT200 worth $950.00 costs $381.25 for third party, fire and theft.

Figure that out.

Didn't even bother getting a fully comp quote.

Thank you Scooter thieves.

Get quotes for third party only and then fully comp - you may find one of those is actually cheaper. I've been quoted cheaper for fully comp rather than TPFT a couple of times - apparently the type of owner who won't consider fully comp is far more likely to cause a claim.

Welcome back to the GT200 Appreciation Society, my old friend.

Along those lines, I am in seek of a GT 200 exhaust if anyone is parting out.
