WTF?? The previous owner of "Frigg" abused my baby. No variater filter & I got this. Getting things cleaned up,new belt, rollers, etc. The tensioner spins free but has a squek. Can I just remove, clean it & repack it with grease. Im in uncharted waters & I'm stuck. Literally, I'm sitting in the garage with a coffee & a smoke. What do I torque to if I can repack it

I'd try some bearing oil and see if that stops the squeaking. If not, a new one is relatively cheap (part #833989). Torque spec is quite low, 8 to 10 ft-lbs per the Workshop Manual (page 120): http://www.scootermasters.com/manuals/GT200Workshop.pdf

As above, lube it and order a new one for next time it's opened up. It's not uncommon for those bearings to get squeaky or even stiff - they come barely lubed from the factory and are in a filthy environment. Don't leave it forever, for if it seizes it'll wear out the belt PDQ.
