Is a kick stand deleted on all Vespa's? Or just on 50cc units? I would think with the upscale price of premium brand like Vespa they would pony up and include a kick stand. The center stand is a pain in the a** on the ET2. Not a good selling point. Most people, women in particular hate the center stand.
Are there any aftermarket options?

The kick stand is great when the scooter isn't running but because the twists and goes have no neutral they can move when the engine is running and fall off the kick stand. Don't ask me how I know.

I would steer clear of the Buzzetti one, it's a 'suicide stand' as the bloke who did my MOT called it meaning it will fold up by itself if you take some weight off it. Someone once hung a light jacket on my bars, that was enough to move the scooter slightly and it folded up. Luckily before I repainted the scooter!

The scooter pops right up on the center stand when you put all of your weight on the stand, rather than yank on the seat strap.

I can't speak for the piaggio one but it can't be worse than the buzzetti one. I fitted it after using a Honda Airblade which had a really good side stand so I thought I'd try it but it wasn't well designed. A bit too long too so there was never enough weight on it so make it stay dow securely

That's a real problem here too. Random strangers just hanging their laundry on your scooter, and another good reason not to use a kickstand.

So out of the four sidestands Buzzetti made and sold over almost twenty years, two of them did not work out well. Pretty convincing argument against the sidestand. It sure would be nice to see some photos of the sidestand failures, like we see photos of belt failures, crap people eat for lunch, etc. Hopefully the other two people who bought the sidestand over that twenty year period have fared better. What I still can't figure out is why they would continue making a product that just knocks your bike over for 20 years. Didn't anyone tell them about it?

my buzzetti is so weak that have been considering welding a larger foot onto it...but the issue of it springing back up remains....

can anyone confirm that the piaggio one does not behave like this?

Sorry not on here very often, yes I used the centre stand. Mine had the pedal part missing though so you had to kind of stick your foot behind the base of the stand and pull the scooter back. That was part of the reason I got the side stand but I'd have been better putting the money towards a new centre stand.

Cheers

Et2 kick stand
I have owned at least 10 motorcycle's and scooters, never had one fall or had the side stand callapse. But then again I don't park facing downhill either.....

The problems of the side stand are two: it has no safety switch and returns to rest by itself at the slightest movement and vibration ... and the Vespa ends up on the ground!
I know, it happened to me with a rental Vespa ...

Watch some videos the Vespa center stand is so easy a child could do it.

Ever try stowing the center stand on smooth concrete? Side stand - so easy a toddler can do it...
