The problem with stalling with my MP3 400 continues. It seems to happen more frequently after the engine is warmed up. It invariably happens when I'm slowing to a stop - when the clutch disengages, the RPMs drop precipitously and the stall occurs. Otherwise, it idles at about 1500 RPMs. The stall is random - it doesn't happen every time, but I do feel/see the RPM dive every time the clutch disengages. Do I need to adjust the idle? Thank you!

you have a dirty throttle body.

get some throttle body spray cleaner

remove the airbag cover

put scoot on center stand

start scoot

take tilt lock off

spray into the throttle opening and rev the engine to about 3000 rpm ,
Do this in 5 sec intervals and do it 6-10 times.

clean air filter and install new spark plug.

do the throttle body cleaning before you install a new plug.

Will do! The plug is original to the bike as far as I know. Which is would make it about 10 years old. Iím not certain how long they generally last.

I personally change spark plugs sooner than most, typically every other oil change.

piaggio recommends every 12,500 miles

So I checked my records, and what the heck???
I changed my plugs at ~6,000 miles, and again at ~16,000 miles.

But not since.

I am right about 46,000 miles on my MP3 500.....

Looks like I'll be changing out my plugs sooner rather than later.

Hoo boy, you should have seen the clouds of burning stuff coming out of the tailpipe!

New air filter, new spark plug (THAT required a few swear words to put in!), and clean throttle body.

Thanks for all your help!

Perhaps it has worked so far because I used iridium plugs.

In cars iridium plugs go 100,000 miles in most cases.
My plugs might have more miles than you. Have to replace them I guess.
