Vespa t5 classic rebuild
Some more pics of my rebuild showing scooter as bought on lift ready for strip down before being sandblasted and etch primed to stop the metal rusting in its bare state while repairs are underway, then various pics of repairs to corrosion mainly lower front panel and very weak engine mountings - all corrosion cut out and new metal mig welded in. Then re etched and a further 3 coats of primer flatted off before 4 coats of nice gloss black more flatting then 4 coats of clear lacquer to give a nice depth of finish. Finally stonechip to underneath!!.

Can not fault the quality of SIP brake caliper - superb.

Word of warning if replacing the the pivot pin I recommend you buy genuine piaggio pin and bearing cups as I originally fitted a pattern part kit on rebuilding I found it still had play!!! Fitted a genuine pin hey presto no play.

After many hours the end result my ideal t5 yep I do like my stickers lol and she's definitely a performer with mallosi kit, SIP big box exhaust, jetting and airbox modifications.

A thank you.
Thanks for your kind comments on my t5 it's my first scooter I've always liked them but up until now only ridden motorbikes. I bought the t5 as a retirement project the only work I didn't complete myself was the sandblasting ( to messy to do at home! ) the t5 shares the garage with my modified Honda cb500 and my latest project a yamaha sr 250 it's just undergoing a dry build then will be stripped for frame painting, the tuning parts ie exhaust system , carburettor intake, filters etc are from jadus in Sweden and give a 20% increase in power - dyno proven so should be a fun machine when completed Thanks again.
