I have an 81 p200e with battery and it has a very very dim headlight at idle. I thought the battery bikes are supposed to be much brighter than what it is. Battery is fully charged and headlight is proper 35 watt. I cannot see any weird issues with wiring in the headset and I retired the stator last winter. I had the same problem before I retired the stator btw. Any ideas of what I should look for? Thanks

It sounds like your electrical system is working properly. The headlight is 12AC powered, and it's going to be dangerously dim when the engine is at an idle. Revving up the throttle should make it much more bright, but many riders would argue that it still won't be bright enough to ride safely at night.

Check your regulator and stator AC output while scooter is on. Terminal 2 is unregulated AC coming from the stator and should be around 12v or higher...maybe 13v or so. Terminal 1 is 12V regulated AC out to stuff like the headlights and should be around 12v but not much lower.

Mine's the same way. I thought that was normal. The battery has nothing to do with the headlight
