I want to do a bigger engine swap on my et4 but I dont mind the work involved, has anybody go any experience on this all cos I can get a gts 300 engine with loom and everything for under £200 but is it going to fit? If anyone knows anything please help me out!

It wont just bolt in. But it can be done, alot of work and it will throw off the suspension mounts and ride height.

It is a cool idea, but alot of work. The poster of that project did it years ago so I dont know how much help in info you could get. If you have access to a machine shop that could make this alot more do able. Also you will have to run 12" rims

Posting the engine number will help us see what’s possible

ET4 can be increased to around 200cc. OK it's only a 2 valve engine but.
.. This would however cost more than $200.

How much heavier is a 263cc "300'? How much more can one get from the extra 63cc? Water cooling, 4v etc.

But if the $200 will eventually fit why not. There is a guy in Austria with the same engine in a Sprint 150. http://modernvespa.com/forum/topic163491?highlight=300+sprint

Since you're okay with putting a radiator on it, you can stick a 218cc Malossi top end on the ET4 engine. That will make it a little faster, but it will still look like an ET4, with a radiator. If you're a master fabricator, the 300 GTS engine might be a little cheaper, but if you're not, and are going to pay shop rates to have it done, the 218 kit would be a more cost effective way to go.

Could buy a GTS 125 and...as it already has the radiators.
