Hello,

I have recently found an original Piaggio Vespa Hand Air Pump and was hoping to find some more information about it - please see attached photos.
When I found it, it was listed for under $2 so you can understand why I jumped at the oportunity even though I didn't know to much about it but everything on it seems authentic so just couldn't contain myself

My questions are:

- Is the pump specific for a certain type of Vespa?
- Is it still offered today?
- Is it a good find and if so, how much would it be worth?

And any other information you could offer on it would be very welcome.

Thank you!

Aside from the painted logo, it looks just like the pump I had on my Raleigh bicycle in the late 1960's...
Even the braid around the rubber tube is the same - to my recollection.

Welcome to MV from the Great White North!

I don't see why it wouldn't work for a modern Vespa, assuming it's in good working order.

My bicycle gets to 100 psi with a hand pump, the Vespa wants 29-38 psi, air volume is greater, but I have never tried a hand pump.

I figured, but had nothing even remotely useful to add, and I watch way too many episodes of the Antiques Roadshow

It reminds me of the old Silca pumps that seemed to be offered with so many British and European bikes in the 60s through the early 80s, and, from memory, fairly ineffective. Never mind filling the tire of a 60s-70s era Vespa, I wouldn't try filling the tire of a garden-variety Raleigh with one of these.
