Roller rattle (normal) or loose variator or clutch (bad). Better check the transmission right away.

IIRC, new rollers are due, so could just be wear with resultant rattle.

If the noise has suddenly come to fruition then it's time to look in the tranny case. But usually when someone complains of this noise it's just the rollers rattling and sometimes the backplate in the variator. All pretty normal for the GTS to make these noises. It gets worse as the rollers wear. Sometimes it's the clutch making some noise too, again not uncommon.

The new HPE engines have better sound insulation in the tranny area to stop folks worrying about tranny noises.
