So if anyone was interested in installing some cameras like I've got setup, here's a similar system to what I got:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-LCD-Motorcycle-DVR-Dash-Cam-HDR-FHD-1080P-Dual-Lens-Waterproof-Action-Camera/273965575049?hash=item3fc99eeb89:g:qw4AAOSwlbZdUpzF

Quality's not the greatest, but the price is under $40, so...

Factoring in lead time for delivery from China, if you use that item, it says you need to order now to have it in time.

Mark

Edit - Search for 1080P Motorcycle Dual DVR and you can find a whole bunch of options, including some already in America for just over $40...

2020 Spring Gathering
Well, it has come time for me to make a decision I've been avoiding for a week or so.

In light of my health issues and on request of my family and friends I have canceled my reservations at Copperhead Lodge. This is not easy for me as I look forward to these gatherings with eager anticipation and the fellowship with each of you.

I hope the situation changes soon and I can rebook. Until next time, ride safe, ride long, and enjoy.

Ralph, whatever does or doesnít happen in a month there will be another in the fall when surely things will have settled down. Iíll hold my reservation until the last week in hopes it can happen.

Closure of roads
This gathering is getting to be difficult. Restaurants will be closed. Now this from the Graham County, NC government who will be closing key roads:

PHASE 1

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020, all hotels, motels, resorts, inns, Air- BnB, Homeway, VRBO, guest houses, campgrounds, RV Parks, Vacation Cabin rentals and any other short-term rentals in Graham County will be closed, EXCEPT for persons needing accommodation with a legitimate work-related stay.

Business owners, contractors and emergency service workers who expect to have employees needing to make reservations for a stay in Graham County will need to provide a work related identification badge from their employer along with a letter from the employer stating the purpose of the work to be performed in the County.

If employers, emergency service workers or contractors have multiple employees needing to stay in the accommodation, one letter with the names of the employees will be sufficient, however, all employees will need to show the accommodation owner proper work identification. If the employer does not have proper identification for their employees, then they will need to contact the County Managerís office at becky.garland@grahamcounty.org until further notice to provide additional documentation (i.e. contracts for work or other documentation to prove the business purpose).

PHASE 2

Beginning on Friday, March 27, 2020, checkpoints will be established at entry points to Graham County and no visitors will be allowed access. Permanent residents, non-resident property owners and non-resident employees of Graham County businesses, and non- resident vendors will be allowed access to Graham County. Vendors and business traffic will be allowed by permit. Staff is working to activate an online permitting system and will provide further guidance no later than Monday, March 23, 2020 at 5 p.m. In addition, timing of the road closures will likewise be provided no later than 5:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2020.

The following highways will be closed or have restricted access:

Cherohala Skyway will be closed to all traffic.
Highways US 129 and NC 28 at Deals Gap will be restricted to local resident traffic and commercial traffic.
US 129 at Topton will be restricted to pass through detour traffic and local resident traffic only. Once the US 74 detour is ended then US 129 will be restricted to local traffic and commercial traffic only.
NC Highway 28 going east from Stecoah will be restricted to local and detour traffic only and commercial traffic. Once the detour is ended NC 28 will be restricted to local and commercial traffic only.
Exception: Due to the detour of traffic from the Nantahala Gorge closure, traffic coming from Cherokee County and from Swain County due to the closure of US 74 through Nantahala Gorge will continue to be allowed to travel through the county. This traffic, however, will not be permitted to stop.

To avoid contact with check point personnel, business travelers issued a permit should display your permit on your dashboard so it is clearly visible for checkpoint personnel.

"We understand that this decision will impact a lot of people," Wiggins wrote on Facebook. "It wlll cause people to be temporarily laid off from work. We will post information on how to file for unemployment benefits on the Graham County website. We accept that these are drastic steps to some degree but we have to do what is necessary to keep people safe. The President of the United States has asked everyone to stay home and eliminate unneccessary travel. We support that decision."

Any questions regarding the closure of accommodations can be sent to public@grahamcounty.org. Graham County officials said there will also be a hotline in place by no later than 5:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2020.

The whole state of Illinois is under house arrest until at least April 7, too.

I've been exiled from my office, which has been really weird. Though we're still open because we're considered an "essential" business...

Mom called down to Copperhead on Saturday and they said they're still open, but there's a LOT of stuff around them closed.

just had a talk with Fuzzy and we will make a call on if we cancel by the 15th of April. this will give folks a 2 week window to cancel with out any penalties.

from their web site in the FAQ's
Cancellation policy
Our cancellation policy requires notification of cancellation at least three days prior to your arrival. If notification is received within three days of arrival, there is a $50 cancellation fee. This fee can be waived by re-booking your reservation for a later date.

Ghraman county NC has shut down not letting non-residents in. This is the county Robbinsville is in. Cherohala is closed at border to TN and 129 is closed just down the hill from Deals Gap. No telling how things will be in a month. We can have fun in north Georgia without going up there though. Today we could still get to Telico Plains Bakery for takeout.

The way things are going Iím getting less optimistic about being able to have the gathering but see no reason to be in a hurry to cancel reservations.

One of the big hurdles will be food. Restaurants will still be closed and doing a group cook is probably out of the question logistically as well as social distance wise.

There is another motorcycle rally at Iron Horse Lodge in mid May and they are in a quandary because of IH has a new cancellation policy that not desirable.

As you say Fuzzy, no need to cancel early but I doubt this will come off.

Iíve been taking short day trips to stay socially isolated and to keep my wife from going crazy with me around all the time.

Yeah, it's really not looking good right now, with El Presidente extending the social distancing guidelines to April 30...

My parents have already had their planned events both before and after the Gathering cancelled, so they're really doubting they'll be going. So I may end up either staying in the bunk room (if it's even open) or needing to see if one of all y'all has a spare bed...

from Tellico Grains Bakery today:

Well folks, this flour is going to have to sit idle for a few weeks. Per Governor Bill Leeís order, we are closing temporarily to help slow the spread. We understand that we can remain open as an essential business, but we and the staff feel that it is in the best interest of our community and nation to cease operation until the storm clears.
We will keep you updated as the situation evolves.
With love

Cancelled my reservation. With all the justifiable restrictions in place (including a newly issued GA shelter in place) I just donít see this happening. If a miracle occurs, I figured it would be easy to make the reservation again. Worse case, I could make it a day ride.

Take care, keep safe, and stay away from others as much as you can.

well with the current governors new stay home policy I went ahead and called in my cancellation too. If things change drastically I am SURE we can get cabins at the last minute. Or we can just pick a place to meet up when things open up again.

Illinois is under that stay home stuff too and our plant issued us travel permits to be kept in vehicles. I am close to the plant so doubt if I will need it but some come from 60+ miles away. Itís starting to warm up, got 2 scoots out and will be rebuilding the clutch for the vintage 1 now that I have room to play mechanics. We are actually expecting to see our Governor extend that stay home into May. I am still hoping for the Missouri Loves Company rally in late September.
Due to the fact that we are rather rural here I will be allowed to run around some on my scooters but this was not on my plans for how I wanted to spend my off work time this spring.

Well, Florida has a state wide lock down also, so I called and left a message to cancel my reservations also.

Hopefully, we can have the Spring Gathering, before summer and then back to normal with the Fall Gathering.

Mask up everyone, I am using one for the "essential" trips to stores, etc.

Unless you have an N95 you are protecting others not yourself, just so you are aware. But good to do.
I lucked out and have 25 N95's from masks a project I was working on.

Well, Kentucky is on Stay-at-Home status (not quite Lockdown). I have gotten in just a couple of rides lately. It amazes me that I have to ride nearly 100 miles in search of TP and hand sanitizer. Still haven't found any!

If the sun keeps shining, I will likely go out looking for more this week. I can't go into Indiana or come back into KY with out quarantining 14 days going both ways! I guess I'll have to keep looking in KY.

Try getting out early to stores that set the first hour aside for seniors. Borrow an ID in case they card you. We went to Costco for senior hour last week and they had some that might not have been there long. We werenít in need but noticed it in some shopping baskets.

If you are truly desperate maybe I could meet you at the border with some.

If not, there's always the fall!

JB, our current crook in Springfield, has extended our house arrest orders to at least April 30, so my parents have cancelled our reservations, too.

I'll be waiting to hear about a summer event, though it may not be something I can get away to get to. Then again, we may not be able to do Maple City Band this year if we can't meet in any numbers...

Itís amazing the small victories we claim in this strange time. I scored 4 rolls of bounty paper towels the other day and was so proud of myself! late Feb, before the crisis was really fully aflame, I happened to notice an empty shelf where the hand sanitizer was - empty except for a box that a clerk was putting on the shelf. I grabbed a couple bottles, not really with the virus in mind, but...

I had never made a reservation so nothing to cancel, but for sure I think weíre cancelled for the spring. Hoping for a beginning to return to normal soon.

Not yet - accident stuff has mostly healed, but I tore quad tendon in late December and had surgery 1-6, so still rehabbing the leg. Another week or so, I think the leg is strong enough to consider riding again. But I have no idea how I will feel mentally when I strap on a helmet. Iíll start slow on the gts and see how it feels.

BMW is just about finished - havenít pushed them since I was hobbled anyway.

I did the same, Tore my quad. Short rides will be best as isn't not going to want to be bent for long periods of time.
Mine took a few years to get 100%, still have my limit on ladder time till it start bothering me.

I hope you will be able to ride soon, Will.

It is a good way to get out of the house in this crazy pandemic.

Not allowed everywhere, I know, but when I get out, I stay well clear of anyone or anyplace. No harm there, I think.

I cancelled my reservations at the Lodge. I hope we can setup something when we get the all clear.

At least, we can look forward to the Fall Event.

I, also have been out riding up and down A1A along the Atlantic Ocean, however the beaches are closed and monitored by the Police.

ďDue to an order issued by the Governor of the State of Georgia late yesterday closing all motels, hotels, and vacation rentals through April 30, 2020, we have canceled your reservation to stay with us.

We apologize for this. We hope that once all this is past that you will make plans to stay with us again soon. No charges have been made to the payment method you provided at time of reservation.
