You need to find an honest insurance agent. MCCA is 90 a year for bikes, and about to go down in January. My new GTS300 HPE is 200/year through Hagerty. my 2005 GT200L was the same.

In Michigan we are very fortunate. We get to pay around $200/year to the Michigan Catastrophic Claims association for every insured vehicle. That's before any coverage. So even if you could get a Vespa policy for $200/year it would cost you $400.
That's good to know. I'm hoping to need a policy next spring.

$42 a month through GEICO and I added extra coverage. USAA tried to charge me $175 a month as they classify a scooter like an ATV or other recreational vehicle. So we pulled all our insurance from them and gave it to GEICO.
USAA doesn't insure motorcycles, they recommend you go through Progressive and you get a discount for being a USAA customer..
That WAS going through USAA.

Wow, that's nuts. In Texas, it's classed as a motorcycle. Think that would make such a difference?
I'm a military vet and my husband is still active. Have had insurance in five different states now and the rules are so vastly different its ridiculous.
I'm retired military. I was really shocked when we moved from Virginia to Texas and USAA (which covered motorcycles in Virginia) passed me off to Progressive. Fortunately, my rates are still low, probably because I'm old.
