The gift exchange is now open. If you wish to participate you cand send me a PM with your address at any time.

I am at work now so I don't have time to write out the full instructions for the new people and as a refresher. I hope to do that in a few days.

It's going to be fun.

Edit: Here is the short version of the instructions. Send me your address and I will send you the name and address of someone for you to send a gift to. Someone else will give to you.

OK. Here is the full instructions.

If you wish to participate send me a PM with your mailing address. A post office box is acceptable.

I match up members in groups of three, as they come in. Each will have a letter designated by me A, B or C. A will give to B, B will give to C and C will give to A. That way no one knows who is giving to themselves. Also it matches up the early adopters as well as the procrastinators. There is no cut off date.

If you want to tell the person that you drew your name that's fine. Most keep it secret until the gift is opened. I usually open my gift as soon as I get it but if you want to wait you are more than welcome to.

The gift should, but by no means is required to be scooter or PTW related. Any thoughtful gift will be fine. I usually spend about $20 not including shipping. You can spend more if you want but try not to go overboard. A handmade gift would be entirely appropriate and, no doubt appreciated. Belkwinith once sent me a Vespa mosaic that she made and it is great.

When you do open your gift take pictures and post here. that's the fun part.

I am offering a new option this year for the first time. If you want to give to a certain person I will match you up with that person so long as he or she has joined the exchange. I will post who has joined every week or so.

The exchange is open to the MP3 and Not so Modern sections too. If you want to stay within your own section let me know.

Tell me if you are willing to ship overseas. Not only is there the cost of shipping there may be an issue with shipping food or alcohol.

If you want to ship alcohol or anything you might have a question about such as the persons gender or T shirt size let me know. I will ask the person and get back to you.

One thing that has become an issue, is that just by chance people get matched up with people they have had before. It happens more often than you might think. I have not kept track of who has been matched with who in the past. If you remember who you have been matched with before please let me know.

Another thing that has not, thankfully, been much of an issue in the past is someone joining, receiving a gift but not sending one. I can count on one hand the number of times it has happened. If you are willing to fill in for someone that got stiffed let me know. If you do not receive a gift please tell me even If you don't really care. There may have been a mix up or I have been known to get an address wrong. Also if someone does not send a gift they will not be allowed to participate in the future.

I will try to match people up on the same continent but that is not always possible. There aren't as many members in Europe or especially Down Under as there are in the US and they have often been matched up in past years.

I am sure there are things that I have forgotten to say. If you have any questions please ask.

Thanks and have fun.

Edit: If you are responding to a PM that I have sent you please do so by pressing the "quote" button and not the "post reply" button. That way I will be able to see what the question was that I asked you.

Thanks, again.

T shirts are a popular item. Also scooter cleaning and maintenance items as well as things like coffee, nuts, candy and I once got some maple syrup. It does not have to be scooter related.

My gift was the promised Shirt to one of my Sponsors for the DGR ride. Sorry, my vacation was awesome and totally needed but I took some of it unpaid and the budget's too thin this year for me to really do up a good gift.

I also liked Scooter Up clothing out of...Spain I belive. I just didn't have the $$$ to get stuff from them at this time. My Birthday and Christmas is next month. If I don't get a performance muffler for the 300, then I'll get some of their stuff too.

Everything I received from these gift exchanges, I still have and use. I am not sure who even sent me what... but I cherish them. From the Old Soul San Francisco shirt and to the super cool air pressure gauge. Any patch or sticker is kept under glass on my work table, for everyone to enjoy.

This has been one of the best Holiday activities. I encourage folks to jump in if possible, if it's not too late.

update
It is by no means too late. Many want to wait until after Thanksgiving until they start thinking about the rest of the holidays. As I said, there is no cut off date. In the past I have had people join as late as Dec 18 but I would not recommend you wait quite that long.

Participation is up this year. I have already had more sign up than all of last year and there is almost 6 weeks to go.

Here is the latest list of those that have sent in thier address:

cdwise, MadisonSully, wmak, MJRally, MarkusArgentus, SaFiS, Syd, Treppenwitz, Die_Wespe_Kind, WEB-Tech, pigletpilot, lostboater, Paddlenround, sisterdelirious, vintage red matthew, Dar912, fledermaus, fishcutter, CrazyCarl, MainlyRitch, ValVitola, jixaw and Belkwinith.

If your name is not on that list and it should be let me know.
