Has anyone replaced the mirrors of their MP3 with foldable mirrors? It's a pain to filter in heavy traffic with the stock ones.

So far I've checked these

And these:

I don't know if they will fit on the MP3's threads

I don't understand the question.

The stock Piaggio MP3 mirrors fold (rotate) by pulling the stem (metal rod) back, although I have never experienced to need to do so even with heavy filtering through traffic. The blinkers (I retrofitted the Piaggio LED units found on the current HPE Euro spec bikes) are longer and are the widest thing on the bike.

See pic below for example of what I mean

On the other hand, if are you are looking for electric folding mirrors then the only bike that I know of is the Suzuki Burgman 650

Hello,

No they do not fold.. they rotate, they can be adjusted but not fold. Check the links I've posted. Those mirrors can be folded inside the bike.
I'm filtering through very tight spaces usually between vehicles(cars, vans, trucks).
The mirrors are at the same level with the car mirrors so obviously they touch from time to time.

Rotating the mirrors inside is not really an option, because I want to be able to revert on their last position. I don't want to adjust my mirrors while riding.

I've had a burgman and the mirrors went under most of the car mirrors. The MP3 is taller and the mirrors sit high. Also Honda Forza, TMax have manual folding mirrors.

I'm fairly confident in saying that neither of the 2 mirrors you linked will fit since you need a long stem to go through the handlebar.

In other words, when looking mirrors you must find ones that have a similar length base stem.

See example below of the stock Piaggio MP3 mirror.

This might work out better for you. Combines both blinker and mirror into one compact unit, and apparently has been tested to be MP3 compatible.

Ok, good to know about the stem length.
Will look some more.
Thank you

Since you are in Europe (like me), and you have a HPE Euro spec bike with factory LED blinkers you can make the same kit yourself at a signficant discount.

FAR is the OEM supplier for all Piaggio mirror products. You can just order direct from their website (www.far.it) and order the handlebar adapter kit (0795) and the respective mirrors (6885 & 6886).

Since you already have factory LED indicators, you can eliminate the resistors and just wire them in directly.

Actually, since these FAR mirrors have integrated LED indicators you could also remove the factory indicators and make your MP3 even slightly narrower since that is what you are seeking/needing.

P.S: I admire the "robust" way the French drive. The only ones who do it even more are the Italians.
