Timing dependent. We have spent a week in Fredericksburg in late September/early October the last couple years. If you get into Octoberfest time, accommodations get pricey. We have hauled the scoots north for some good summer riding, and that general timing fits for our return home. Keep us posted.

If you straight-lined it, its 14,469 km with lots of it across water so you won't be able to ride there.

I'd be interested.

We just spent a long weekend in Kerrville for my wife to take a 3-day quilting class. I hauled my scooter in the back of my truck and rode a loop from Kerrville to Medina to Bandera and back to Kerrville (about a 65-mile jaunt). I did the same loop 2 days in a row. It was my first time to scoot in the Hill Country, and it was an absolute blast! I'm looking forward to more next year. There are lots of different routes.

BTW, if going through Medina, a stop at The Apple Store for a slice of apple pīe is MUST! Good burgers, too.

yes, email us, we'd like to be a part of it. Jason from The Motorcycle Shop in San Antonio would probably be in too.

I would love to visit the area, I have a former student based in Austin. My issue is a conflict with another trip. Keep us posted.

Me as well, timing dependent. Peak bluebonnet bloom is a good time, but varies with the weather.

I'm in, as that's my back yard.

But I'm with JimJar. Please don't have it on a Saturday that the Horns play at home or I'll be noticeably absent.

Good Start
Good Initial response !

First step let's pick a date .

I have attended the MSTA rally in the Hill Country. It is a 4 day event with many Loops, but the Loops are usually 200 miles long. Can someone set up Loops, with maps better suited to scooters, and even small scoots ?

The base for the MSTA rally was the Y O Ranch Hotel in Kerrville. The rate for the event was $91 per day, and because I did not camp I do not have any details on where or how much to camp. Does anyone have a better deal for a Hotel or details for a Camp Ground ?

This is a Great Riding area, let's see if we can make it HAPPIN....

I've been to the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach, and had a blast. There is a lot of great riding, camping, and other accommodations already in place. I would definitely be up for it, and if you schedule it for a weekend when the Longhorns have a home game, that might just keep out the ne'er do wells.

Weíre heading to Leakey for Thanksgiving and Iíd hoped to bring the Vespa along to ride the Three/Twisted Sistersóa trio of twisty roads that is said to be some of the best riding in the Hill Country.

Alas, itís not gonna happen. Major bummer. So if you see some idiot in a full face helmet hanging his head out the window of a minivan out there this weekend, now you know the rest of the story!

I lived in New Braunfels in 2001. I didnít ride two wheels back then, but did have a Turbo-Beetle to cruise the hill country.

BTW the Wurstfest building burned down!

I might be able to make this work... Best case scenario would be to fly in and rent or borrow a Vespa. Worst case, rent a trailer and haul the 946, or see if I can get it to fit inside the wifeís Honda Element.

Hill Country Date
We have not selected the date yet. My experience with MSTA has been in October, and the weather has been good.
After New Year I will check on motel, maps, and free stuff. I do not plan to camp, so someone else will have to check out a camp sight.

I wish I was there. That is where I want to move to. Kerville, Fredericksburg,Boerne and the country side is so beautiful there. when I went to visit my sister on the countryside on Boerne I would always drive on the back roads, so green and beautiful.
