I just got an MP3 250, 2010 model. I'm an experienced mechanic. You'll be hearing more from me. I got the service manual. Here is my first question:

How do I remove the plastic to work on it? Specifically the underseat plastic? I can't find it in the manual. I took off the seat and all the screws I could find, including the two 10mm bolts under the covers, but it's still all very firm.

I was able to stumble through dis-assembling the front end plastic, especially after I found some step by step photos in a service bulletin.

Thanks in advance....

I've got a 2015, which no longer has the trunk like yours but I believe the concept is still valid.

Start taking it apart from the back, starting with the carrier shelf. Once you got that off, you'll see it comes apart layer by layer akin to peeling an onion.

Thanks all! That's very helpful.

And now that I look again there are some clues in the next-to-last chapter in the service manual, called "chassis". Silly me, I thought the plastic was "body" and the metal tubes were "chassis". Now that I have the paper manual as well as PDF, it's easier to flip through it and find stuff.

Piaggio seems to want you to take off the center cover first on its scooters. That's the piece that includes the flap that covers the fuel filler. Then take off the side covers, then the taillights, then the hand rails, then the tub. More or less.

Only some models. With my Fuoco you HAD to start at the back for pretty much everything except the very front bits. Same with all the X9 models and the GP800.

With Vespas though, you start at the very front...

Download the Parts Manual that has pictures of the parts and how they screw, and snap into place. Start at the Rear, and work your way to the front.
This is typically the norm...

But it is possible to do some things from the front, but it all depends on what your trying to accomplish.

Be careful not to break any tabs, they are critical and get your self some small bags, and as you remove the screws, put them in the bag, and tape it to the removed parts.

Take pictures as you take it apart for reference.

Yeah, I finally got the center plastic off so I could fix the fuel door latch and replace the parking brake cable. Start with the rear lower fenders. Then the rear upper plastic and the backrest and handles. Once all that is off the center section can be removed.

There are a few very sneaky fasteners, like the screw hidden behind the light in the rear trunk.

There’s a guy on YouTube who shows taking almost every panel off.

Just search MP3 panel removal

I did change the parking brake cable about a month or so ago, and it was a learning curve, but mission accomplished, I am not a mechanic but I did that in a friend's body shop where he and his employee helped me when I got stuck, the job took me 3 days to do, as I forgot to do couple of things so I had to repeat some work again, also, the tilt seat sensor got screwed up.... I have an issue with a video on it, when you have time have a look please and any feedback will be appreciated, thanks,
