In the cold, I get air coming around behind my knees and under my thighs. Don't know if deflectors are going to solve that. Might just create more turbulence.
I'm actually intrigued by the Turcano lap blanket concept. If only they weren't so expensive.
Suppose some heavy coveralls or bibs would work just as well.
Thanks.
Yep it's that cold air down there on my legs.
My upper body catches no wind and thus not cold like that.
I'm hoping to create more fairing width effectively.
There are nice flat surfaces I can use industrial velcro and attach moldable kydex.
If I mount to the rear facing flat surfaces it will straight outwards.
Or I can bend it and angle it out at 45 degrees.
This might be best vs straight out.
As stated Wings and other touring bikes have these added.
If I mount to the side facing surface, I would then need to heat bend the kydex out at 45 degrees, same affect.
Either way I could easily remove these pieces when it warms up in the spring. I'm only running in town errands or short rides in.thr winter. Real nasty and I'm in my car. Supper nice and I'm on my BV350 or motos.
If often quicker errands so I'd just like wind block vs changing too much. I have full on Klim gear, Goretex boots and gloves and a battery powered heated vest and all that but it's about quick and dirty. My MP3 has the best wind block as is, I jump on and do an errand alot. Up top a puffer, gloves and heated grips keep me warm. Maybe I'm being lazy by not changing my pants...
I just don't jive with those wind blankets, but I can see their effectiveness if the MP3 is your only ride in any weather and you have distance to go.
