but for the love of all that is holy, would you put some washers under those bolt heads? if not for the good lord, just for, like my OCD-ness of fasteners and things fastener adjacent.

besides, you done worked your ass off on that paint and body and i'd hate to see it gacked up something fierce because of that.

Plus one. Sqroo your OCD! Just remove them at the concours shows or if you wanna sell for top dolla!

100% with you on the no LOBO marks. but i'd forsake enrico (and nanna for that matter) and throw some stainless washers on there.

i doubt even a trainspotter would notice.

Damn... looks great!

I am sure you know this.... but just in case..... Before you place the inner rail on the other side, wire in the brake switch and put the brake pedal on. I had to mess with the brake pedal after putting the floor rail and rubber in place and it suuuuucccccked.

Thx, good tip... one I could’ve easily forgotten.

Reminds me I also need to grab a new brake switch. The old one cracked into a dozen pieces during disassembly.

Ya no kidding , I thought maybe it was just me that thought yep another little glimpse.

I can certainly understand the vote for having washers under the bolts for the centre stand , I struggled with the same. That reminds me , must be a centre stand attached to those bolts, that we haven’t seen the frame propped up on.

There like damn time bombs.
And that's if you can manage to wire the DC one's at all before the ears crack off.
🙂

Sure is looking shiny.
Enjoying the slow reveal.

Did the GL models have buttons on the OG seat?

I’d go that route... whatever came stock.

Lovely seat either way. Which one do you like?

FWIW, I think the OG seats were Piaggio w/ no buttons, but the Aquila is a period correct premium replacement, so either would be 'legit'.

Pretty sure GL’s and VBB’s came with a saddle seat. SS had a bench w/o rivets. I think GS had the snazzy rivets.

Ya ya. You are right. Was the single saddle perch.

Hmmm. I actually think I’d go buttons and kinda riff off the gorgeous , kinda GS150 style paint

Ok thanks for the input everyone.

Seat Ballots have been cast and counted, and doesn’t look like we have a clear winner. In fact, seems we have a dead tie: Three for Rivets, three for No-Rivets, plus a couple of abstentions. Go figure.

So the decision now goes to the Supreme Scooter Judge - i.e., yours truly.

No wrong choice here.

Thanks again. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, after carefully drilling out the minuscule rivets of the wafer-thin badge, doing my best to clean it as delicately as possible before repainting, the “L” snapped off and went flying. It’s now MIA somewhere in the bowels of my garage.

No biggie, I can get another badge. But here’s some trivia ... there’s a tiny trademark “R” on the original.

Late reply... but I’d go no sequins.

With the light paint, and the extra glitter it might make it a little too busy on the eye.

But, if you do... lose the strap. It breaks that visual line and makes it a little chonky.

^^ What greasy said. Either one will look superb, but the eyes will be drawn more to the nice unique shape, paint, and trim, without the rivets.

It’s gonna be fantastic, no matter which one you decide on!

Well - this is a dilemma isn't it.
Victory has been declared - but some key votes had not come in.
Now what do we do?

When the L turns up, maybe you can reattach with solder? To clean, might be worthwhile glueing it to some glass or other flat thing first.

My thought is that the rivets look more GS than GL, so would go for none on that basis.

1. Looking spectacular. Enjoying the slow unveiling
2. Little known fact: praying mantis are total sticklers about reading warning labels.

Praying mantis reminds me of the warning sticker on the sun visor of my two seater Saturn Sky. "Children should be placed in the back seat"

Thanks all. Took a couple of hours to get that badge on with the tiny rivets.

The mantis was cool. You don’t see many in San Diego. When it finished reading the warning label, it climbed up on the LED and sat there staring at me while I worked. I felt like I should’ve offered it a beer.
