Hello to everyone. I've just purchased a 1978 vespa ciao ( L model - I think). I would be looking to make a few upgrades to get my speed up near 40/45mph and need help in choosing the correct add on.
I was going to start with the basics of
* New variator
* New clutch plates
* New larger carb
* New exhaust system
Then moving on to increasing the cc. If needed.
Does this sound feasible? Am I missing a big step that would help?
Any ideas that people have would be greatly received.
It goes without saying that any and all pictures will be posted on here.

I can't answer your questions but welcome to the forum.
I had a Ciao several years ago for a short time. I wish I would have kept it.
You might get more response if you post in the not so modern section.
Good luck.
