We just sold our house for more than expected and so there is some petty cash to get this Giallo yellow fellow to add to my stable to fill the gap I created by selling my 1200GS.
I'm buying on the "half now, half never" finance scheme
The scoot goes in to my Vespa guru's paint shop on Monday to have everything chrome changed to gloss black. Sport seat also envisaged.

Pix will be posted on completion!

I like that yellow. If I could talk myself into spending the cash another would be in my garage.

Yellow May Draw The Most Looks
Fud,

Thanks for sharing your latest. We differ slightly, I do like the chrome.

So, are you down sizing or relocating? My kids are all grown and gone.
I need to get our of my house and get a townhouse. I am either to old or
do not enjoy doing all the outside maintenance stuff.

Should look great. I have just blacked out my blue 2015 GTS. Are you going to get tinted indicators? I got some, but the LEDs were too faint. Am looking for some better ones - Power1 perhaps.

Painting the exhaust heatshield black makes a big difference. I think the result looks better than most aftermarket exhausts - merges with the flow of the Vespa body better.

Congrats, Fud - the yellow with the black will be sharp! Wish you all the best with this next chapter.

Bob, I get what you are saying about downsizing. We went from about 4,800 sq ft to living in the 850 sq ft house we built on this island as a vacation house. We knew we could do it (lived on a boat or in an RV for months at a time), and it has worked out just fine. Best thing about this smaller place: easy to lock and leave when we went to get away. Gated community with security, our monthly HOA fees pay for lawn mowing, among other things. Put down the hurricane shutters... and go. Security cameras inside and out so we can keep an eye on things, if necessary.

Or, stay here and have year 'round riding (sub-tropical climate) and a boat in the canal at the dock steps from our deck.

I really don't miss yard work or shoveling/snowblowing the driveway and sidewalks.

We have been in the same house for 37 years, adding and improving as the family grew and the money permitted. When my father died, my mother had me design what we call a "duet house" - a semi-detatched pair of living units on a single property. She moved into one unit and let out the other for retirement income.

Less than a year after moving in, she met and married my stepfather who had an extended family. His pension brought in more income than the letting of the second unit so they decided to not renew the lease and kept it vacant for visiting children and grandchildren. (My mother went from one child to six children and from 3 grandchildren to 14!)

When my stepfather died, Mom stayed on and asked my eldest son and his family to move into the 'visitor unit' for company and added security. When she died, I inherited both and we are now moving in next door to my eldest son. He is a maintenance and small construction contractor so it really suits our needs too.

The profit on selling our first home is going into my wife's pensionable interest as she took a knock when she stopped teaching for 10 years to raise our three kids. I have merely taken a "commission" on selling the house (the realtor actually did nothing but paper work) and buying this yellow fellow for my efforts.

Gorgeous yellow! A pity itís not imported in Israel. Personally I love the chrome trim. But got used to the black more subtle charm like on my green racing sixties. Canít wait to see your pics when done!

Mine will be going even further...

Some more parts shown.

What colour are the wheels?
The indicator lenses are also going to be softly smoked by about 15%

All told, there will be 34 parts due to go black - including an SIP accessory headlight peak and rear carrier.

my first yellowscooter
My first bike was a HD Sportster 1995 yellow. Good visibility and looked great with black! 66,000 miles on her in 10 years. It was like riding a baby elephant, only I didn't know it!

I will definitely keep Sunny.

I'll be selling two of my BMW GS machines instead.
I'm getting a little fragile and unfit for offroad riding.

Retiring and House downsizing
Fud,

Again your scooter is beautiful.

It is amazing how similar stories unfold - even continents away.

We (with blushing bride) built our two story 2800 square foot Colonial Style
home 30 years ago. Here in the cold North, we have basements to get
below the frost barrier. The basement is another 1400 square feet. My wife also quit a decently paid job to raise out two kids.

We should have sold and downsized 10 years ago. At age 72, even with just the snow removal, it is to much for me. I have been lucky to get the neighbors boys to mow my lawn and do odd jobs (Paint the fence, removed the leaves in the Fall).

Here are some photos of Winter one year ago.

I really appears you have the perfect retirement set up. I will be downsizing soon - then more time to ride.

The black with yellow is truly sharp looking! I wonder if that makes it even faster, because yellow is clearly the fastest color as everyone knows. Can't wait for it to warm up...still riding when it hits 50 in my area.

Urca! Quanta neve! E che bella casa, sembra uscita da un film di favole.
Wow! Lot of snow! And what a beautiful house, it looks like something out of a fairytale movie.

Light colors are also safe to see at night.
