Hey guys, just got an et4 that came with all the service records, even original purchase receipt from 2003.

Problem is, it was sitting since May 2019. Put a new battery, had a service done at local shop and everything seemed to be fine.

Took it out on the freeway, pushed 55+ mph, oil light came on, the engine lost power and bike stalled. I was able to pull over and start the bike back up after a few pushes of the ignition button. Felt almost like I was doing a cold start.

Once I started it back up I stayed around 30-35 mph, obviously off the freeway and made it home with no problem. Any idea what happened? Spark plug issues maybe? It was the first time I brought it up to that speed, and we are still on day one of regular usage.

Any advice/opinions/tips appreciated.

That's a bit troubling. How's the oil level?

My family owns a new automobile dealership. I recall several instances when customers were having their oil changed and experienced a catastrophic motor failure because oil wasn't added to their vehicle during service. These sorts of things stick with you, especially when you provide a vehicle to use, remove and replace an engine and pay for the repair. Warranty doesn't cover this sort of thing. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Your oil filter also may have not been tightened properly as well. If it was low on oil, the motor would sound like a thrashing machine, especially as hard as you were running it. Good luck

Cracked HT lead?

My Et4 became erratic as this failed.
