Hey what's up everyone just wanted to share some exciting news in the works coming soon!! As some of you know we currently own 9 Piaggio MP-3' scoots and have been giving successful rides all over LA for almost a year! Now has come the time to switch to a lighter more modern scoot that can still Split lanes!!

Any guesses as to what Make and Model we will be going with??

Thanks everyone for all your help and I hope even though we wont have the MP-3's I can continue to be a great part of this community. Maybe the powers that be can create a new section and I will be glad to share feedback, questions, and long-term reliability issues if they arise.

Why can't you split lanes with the MP3? I've been doing that for years on my MP3, whether it be on the freeway in the city or anywhere in between.

Ok, gotcha. Then the reason for getting the new 3 wheeler is because you're renewing the entire fleet because the MP3s are at the end of their extended Piaggio warranty I assume?

My guess is the new bikes are going to be the new 2020 Yamaha Tricity 300

For the amount of mileage we put on these bikes, several factors have made us want to switch to lighter models and something newer.

They will be a 2020 model and brand new!!! But not Yamaha That does seem like a great bike though if the US could get them!

Something lighter eh? Perhaps compared to a regular scooter, the MP3 could be considered porky but I think the MP3 is solidly in the maxi scooter camp.

Then again, I might be a bit biased as my next bike is going to be one of the following 3 in order of preference Honda GoldWing, Honda X-ADV, Yamaha Niken

While I love the GoldWing, I'm probably going to end up with the X-ADV

plan for the other 9 Mp3
Are the other 9 Mp3's going to be offered as daily rentals? This was showing up on the riders-share.com front-page today. Interesting way of generating a second round of revenue from the existing fleet of Mp3s. But how does that work out with insurance and coverage if its a business (not an individual) renting out bikes on the riders-share platform?

A new challenger appears
Digging through the internet reveals a variety of other 3-wheel narrow body motorcycles. However so far only the Mp3 is confirmed to be in the US-markets while the others are Europe, Japan, or China. There are a few cheapie brands out there that are low on features and not really something I'd trust to LA-Traffic.

It's an idea we have been tossing around just checking to see if we get demand for it?, Still working out the details. I would assume it would work the same way other motorcycle rentals work, where the drivers auto insurance covers them. Currently we only do the motorcycle taxi and deliveries and have a million dollar policy for those.

No it is way smaller then that thing!! If you have seen one of those in person its quite large. Not ideal for splitting lanes in my opinion..

This is a cool idea also, I do want to switch to full electric once we have rapid charging and more range..... Doesn't look like you can fit two people on it though with the cargo case?

kymco has a new three wheeler. but not in production yet. and not gonna be lighter than mp3.

qooder QV3 would be my guess. qooder is coming to USA. the qv3 is 485lbs wet. technically advanced. will be substantially more nimble than the OLD mp3 at 565lbs wet.

what do I win?

NICE WORK JerryD!! The best guess so far You win 20 free rides with Split, download our app and enter the promo code MAX Rides must be used within the first 15 days or they expire. After that all rides are 50% off to all users.

Thank you so much Jerryd for all the support, we really hope it catches on!! Currently 9 states are lobbying for lane splitting, not sure if Florida is on the ballot. We will continue to use the Mp-3 fro daily or weekly rentals most likely but still to be determined... If we sell them I will have lots of spare parts and bikes to sell

Huh. I thought Quadro had four wheels hence the name. In any case, it is not a very popular product even here in Europe.

I have seen both 3 and 4 wheel versions of the Quadro on youtube.

I fancy one but i think because of my disability i would still have to modify the seating for me to use as i have done on the fuoco and thats if i could.Unfortunatly there's not many in the UK and as i would not want to spend more than £3000 for one as there is no spares setup in the UK . I've been reliably told service items are available but should you need anything else it's far from easy and a accident claim would be a write off. There is or was one on ebay UK and i enquired about insurance for it, it was only about £40 more per year over the fuoco's but the excess was a hefty £650.
