I can't decide to have just 1 girlfriend & be faithful or juggle around 2 girlfriends... so I got them both & live as a playboy.

Got into this debate with my co-worker the other day about how a fool I am to get 2 of the same brand.... to him they are both just scooters to get me from A to B. He said I should spend that money on experience in life like going on a short trip or some sort.

But to me, I think my experience is being able to enjoy and choose my ride to commute everyday. He would never know the differences between a 2T/4T engine, 10"/12" wheel, ABS/No ABS, auto/manual shifting, smell of 2T fumes/smoothness of 4T fuel injected..... my list can go on.

I don't care what ppl tell me how I should spend my money. To me this is passion....

You're fine as long as they never meet each other.

Oh, shit.

Nothing wrong with at all. They are you're adventure and whike they are the same brand they are far from being the same ride. Besides I've always been of the opinion you want at least 2 in case one is out of commission for a while.

I have the opposite problem, i like Japanese scooters ... maybe one day I will buy a Honda Spazio / Helix 250 to have vintage scooter.
Well... it is said here in Italy, that we balance everything.

Vote: modern or...vintage but if pre 1960s.

I would stay away from the red one.
Red scooters are insanely jealous.

Just don't park them face to face. 😀

Both scooters look amazing! Modern gets my riding vote, but I probably wouldn't stop staring at the old school either. Two thumbs up for both.

Your co-worker also doesn't understand that your scooter can take you on a trip. Plenty of stories of scooter touring here on MV and blogs out there. Consider looking into Peter Moor's books for additional inspiration.

The key thing is, you do you and do what feels right.

P.S. I've got multiple scooters and motorcycles. They each have their strengths and weaknesses and having options keeps the commute from getting dull.

As long as you can afford and have space for both I don't think they’ll mind. One of the joys of Vespas is it is easier to own more than one.

Nice of Pair of Scooters
NickyPx195

You really keep those two looking great. I love the style and look of the
vintage Vespa. It is those classic looks that inspire us to buy the new machines.

Having admired your vintage machine, I want nothing to do with it. Mechanical problems and break downs on the road are not my cup of tea.

I like retro new machines with all their advanced technology.

The PX all the way. Are far as reliable goes, well that's up to you. Keep up with it (which is easier than a modern), and you should not have any big problems.

You are a lucky boy to have multiple rides and each has its own sweet spot.

Vespas don't get jealous of each other…though they might gossip behind your back.

I say keep 'em both…they seriously complement each other, IMO. But, don't take it from me, take it from this guy:

I've got vintage and modern. Both are awesome. Modern does what you wish the vintage would do. You can spend $20K on a vintage that will never do what a $3500 modern will do. I love running the shit out of one of my vintage bikes, covering the clutch and screaming down a country lane, hauling ass through corners, or riding briskly at speed and eating the curves on my GTS. 2 differing experiences, yet so satisfying. Anyone taking sides with regards to modern or vintage hasn't experienced riding a scooter.

Ride what brings you joy
Perhaps I am just old school, but having learned how to drive stick shift when getting my driver's license I appreciate driving/riding a manual shifter over an automatic every day of the week, but then this is your decision, not mine. If you enjoy the ride, how can that be wrong?! Just take care of your rides and stay safe.

You think you have got a problem...

I have 6 mistresses!
(My girlfriend is another story.)

One mistress is Italian - the other 5 are Bavarian.

Take notice of what a wise old biker once told me:
"An older motorcycle is like an older woman. You must admire them, love them, caress them and care for them every day and then at least once a month...
ride them hard!"

Are they the same CC class? 150? Aside from the stated manual vs Auto/2 stroke vs 4 stroke comparasions. That would be another one.

Regardless, good for you "Playboy" I'd have a tough choice with two classy ladies like those!

I love the look of the classics but frankly I can't stand two stroke engines. So while I will gladly ooh, ahh and otherwise admire your classic I will own, ride and love my modern GTS.
