Piaggio has 3 different head gasket sizes. Which size are you using?

It could easily be the water pump.

Good luck with repairing with the repair kit - I assume you have all the right extractors and presses available. Normally the recommendation is to replace the whole cover complete with new pump and seals - not much more expensive and far less trouble!

There's nothing that can't be done easily in replacing whole pump. You will need to remove right engine cover (alternator cover) and pump cover.

Next you unscrew pump's flywheel, remove pump shaft, get scared of debris on it, remove funny 2-part ceramic seal, remove classical rubber seal, install new one, install new shaft (don't forget its washer at its base), install new funny ceramic seal and tie back the pump flywheel using thread locker. As far as I remember you'll only need 8mm head.
