But not in 2020 ... I hope from next year. With this topic I would like to put various videos taken by YT and documentations with indications for suggestive tourist places, not only the most common but also those areas that the tourist guides (for you not Italian) do not include for various reasons. In the meantime you can plan your holidays in beautiful Italy when the times are better.

I have tickets booked for first week of October to go visit family in Calabria and a night on Amalfi coast on way back to Naples airport. I am a huge fan of the Amalfi Coast and stay in different towns each time but have never rented a Vespa as my wife does not like getting on back of bikes. I was lucky enough to visit Calabria at New Year before all the Covid crap and we hired a snowmobile at the top of the Sila mountain range which was great fun. My mother is not doing so well so I am keeping fingers crossed the virus does not prevent me travelling in 3 months, the way things are it is impossible to predict.....

I'd love to and also hope people visit Canada as our tourism has been whacked hard as well. Strange not seeing the crowds downtown and the tour buses everywhere.

The news this morning is that US citizens will not be allowed into the EU when it opens on July 1 [Reference].

It is a decision of the European Union.

I don't blame the EU at all.

I know Miguel, it's difficult but sometimes there are necessary things to do.

Actually, I applaud the soundness of the decision despite the fact that I won't be allowed to go there this year (but I wasn't planning on it anyway). We typically go to Europe about once a decade and are planning a trip to Barcelona in 2023 to see the completed Sagrada Familia and will likely tour a bit of Italy and perhaps Scotland along while there.

Oh yes, Fabiani moto...i know. I live 70 km south of Rome and I go there often (not by scooter, too dangerous!)

When you go in Sicily, you go to Trapani ... It is beautiful.

Ha, I can see you are an optimistic person

My little inner voice tells me that we will still see the cranes and scaffolding looming around Sagrada Familia for quite some time... actually, it would be weird to see it without

We were meant to be in Florida right now for a family reunion with wifes side. Have had to rebook for next March to San Diego and Sedona. If those in USA who refuse to wear masks or social distance carry on as they are who knows when there will be a mutal agreement between Europe and USA regards travel.

We were planning on a 3-week trip in 2020 but have now pushed it out to 2021, notwithstanding any further outbreaks. We miss Italy sooooo much.

Were you the one who did the Italian language course?

Thank you! I've heard of it and always wanted to go there! I hear you re: Danger -- I normally take my Brompton bike to Italy but do not ride it in the city in Napoli, or Roma.

Well ... I said dangerous for those who have no experience of places and how italians drive, nothing to worry about ... just adapt.

Well said...the big word is adapt, expect the unexpected and watch out for the crazy scooters. My wife is happy now to drive anywhere in Italy but took a few visits for her confidence to grow.

Visit Italy
Yes, agree -- I do drive in Napoli and Roma (and am insured) but don't bike or scoot (yet) inside these city centers (but certainly have in others) -- but the surrounding areas are fine! Beautiful country, food and people! I need to venture further afield outside of the main cities in general!

Yes, you have to travel the entire coastal road to Terracina, from there go to San Felice Circeo and continue the coastal road to Borgo Grappa, then continue to Borgo Sabotino and from there go to Nettuno - Anzio. From Anzio take the Nettunense road to Aprilia and from Aprilia to Rome. Done!
