My friend and I who have 2017 Sprints finally bit the bullet and decided to change the front suspension to Ohlins. The model we installed is the PI701 which was made for Sprint/Primavera models with ESS suspension. I am based in Manila and the Ohlins we have here are made in Thailand. Build quality is still really good. It took our mechanic a bit of time and patience to install them as the ESS set up needed more work than the standard type. He also made sure he greased up the pivot points to prevent corrosion as much as possible.

Initial feedback:

I was a bit skeptical on what changing shocks can do but a quick ride around town provided immediate improvements to the comfort, feel and handling even in the factory setting.

Those small vibrations felt on the handlebars when driving were gone. The bike felt a lot more compliant and it felt more confident in rougher roads such as small potholes and road imperfections. The scooter feels a bit more planted and the same time more comfortable. Its a bit expensive at around $450 for the front but I'm happy with the results especially for street use. I was initially considering Bitubos since they're a lot cheaper but I read here in MV that they stiffen up the already harsh ride of stock shocks so it was a no for me.

The Ohlins also lists the PL801 Mini 536 for the Vespa Sprint, Primavera with EES at a much lower price. I has not checked that it is available in USA.
They are sure nice shocks and quality suspension.

The PI801 and PI802 here are for the non-ESS models to work with the current sprint and primavera 150 iget. These come both with external reservoirs for the front and rear shocks.

These are listed at a much higher price here compared to the older PI701 and PI702.
