Hey guys can I get some help, I need to put the new latch and lock on the small door on the left cowl and donít have a close up pic of the setup. Would someone be so kind as flip open your door and take a couple detailed pics of the slim latch and lock setup please? Iíll attach the parts I have .
Thanks appreciated.

Here are some pics.
Should be similar.
Hope this helps.

FYI, I believe that for the lock you have, it wonít be possible to remove the key without locking the side box. Original lock could remove the key in both unlocked and locked positions.

Perfect thanks for the photos, helps a ton. Originally there was a wine cork where the round lock should have been

Thanks poidog, got it done. Is there suppose to be some sort of bumpers between the door and the cowl? Can't see how metal to metal is right. I was sent the long pin to attach the door to the cowl but its too short to go all the way through , I'll have to come up with something there.

You might want to keep the cork.

It's a glorious pain in the neck to require the key to get into that cowl or to shut the cowl. I keep oil and tools in there, and I have to lock the steering to open it or close it. It's a nuisance.

If I weren't so lazy, I'd have removed the lock or invested in a split key ring. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

If anyone knows a vendor who sells a retrofit lock that can be open and remove the key, I'm in. Extra points if the steering tube lock can be keyed alike.

Glad you got it sorted out.
As far as I know, someone correct me if I am wrong, there was no rubber trim there. It is sold as an 'accessory' and can be put on.

That door fits pretty tight as is and rubber would make it hard to close. Looks better without.
