Out for a ride today, my wife on her Xmax, me on the Vespa. I have been using a 360 camera to get stills and videos of our outingsd... prior to getting that, it has been hard to get a video of one's self while riding. This was easy: clamp the camera on the back of my wife's scoot, and I controlled it from my bike. A short example...

I made a post a week or so ago with 4 videos on my Vespa, but it was locked and deleted. Sorry if posting this violates any forum rules - just having fun on my Vespa and getting it on video. The 360 camera also makes it possible to get videos of your ride when out solo. (Using an Insta360 One R.)

Nice vid.

I'n order to maintain the delicate harmonious balance of MV you need to add a url link if posting videos so chrome users don't get their panties in a bunch.

Yep, Jim great vid and that's why it was deleted. I'm not sure I agree with the policy but it's not my site so go with the flow. Easiest thing is copy/pate the vid then paste again. Highlight the pasted video link and then click on the URL option up top. It will encapsulate the URL in a way that Chrome users can click on it. Try it once or twice and you will get the hang of it. I have no issue with the policy but it can be a bit hard for users that are trying to share content that aren't very technical or visit MV on a regular basis.

The Black Hills is a great place to ride. We lived here years ago. That short video clip of me on the Vespa was shot on South Rockerville Road. One of my favorites, along with Neck Yoke Road, Playhouse Road, and the most well-known: Iron Mountain Road. Custer State Park has great roads. Vanocker Canyon (just south of Sturgis) is a treat. Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway. Hwy 385 (the backbone of the Black Hills). Old Hill City Road.

We have been here for 2 months now, plan to spend a few more weeks, and the riding never gets old. Certainly different from our home roads in the southern tip of Texas.

Another video, riding my GTS in the Black Hills. Shot from in front of the Vespa with a 360 camera mounted on the back of my wife's scoot...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5won-pRG8c&feature=youtu.be

And, a few stills from the 360 camera...

Fortunately, there is a place for both. My wife's Xmax really is a very capable scoot, but the GTS is a better fit for me. On days when I ride and she has other stuff going on, she will say, "Take mine if you want." I do from time to time... it has been fun being able to compare and contrast the two scoots.

If I were looking to update my ride, it would certainly include those two models in the selection process.

No crucifying here - I appreciate your perspective.

No Vespa content, just sharing the latest music video from my music partner Mark and me...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsvU6Pirvi8&feature=youtu.be

Feel free to comment and share. Yes, we do originals, too. Mark is in the middle of the music production on our next project; the video work (my part) will be a bit down the road. Literally. We've been out in the motorhome for three months now, and will head for home soon. The riding at home isn't as much fun as what we've had in the Black Hills, but I do have access to all my music gear (traveling with the bare minimum music stuff this trip).

Our time here in the Black Hills is getting short - it has been nearly 3 months of glorious riding. I made another video to remind me... we'll be back home soon, where we'll get "another summer," but the riding will be straight and flat.

Hope you enjoy riding along...

Well, that was a fun watch... crazy city riding AND doing it on... the wrong side of the road!

Some friends think we are crazy to ride in Phoenix when we visit our daughter and son-in-law... we call it "urban cruising," but we are out enjoying the big city, not having to do a daily commute. And avoid the rush hour times.

So does riding down the wrong side of the wrong side of the road make it it right?

The one place Iíd like to ride at some point is Rome. It looks like another level and then you add cobbled streets.

One last video, shot yesterday, enjoying the ride and the fall colors...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMtHR-zsqDg

This one is almost 4 minutes long, so I understand if most folks can't get through that. My wife said, "I can't hardly get through a ride video that long, and I was on that ride!"

I belong to a FB group for owners of that 360 camera, and most people seem to post 20 second videos with all the cheesy things the camera can do. I use it for the great stabilization and the ability to change the view at will... after the fact.

Our last ride here in the Black Hills this season. Time to load up and head south.
