Did anyone find the visuals annoying AF? I was at work with no sound. but just kept saying, "let me see the damned thing!!"
Well, anyway, looks pretty interesting. Keep us posted. (Wonder if it comes with the 20 Drone options?? ) |

Now, that has my attention. I was always attracted to the SH300 and disappointed it never came to the US. This looks even better. I hope Honda sends it our way. I like the styling and the flat floorboards much more than the Forza.

You should know that the change in displacement was made necessary due to the new European anti-pollution regulations, the increase in the catalytic converter would have led to a decrease in power, so Honda has raised the overall performance and has also modified all the remaining vehicle.

Hello Terry, we have ridden together (actually you had your VW camper) on one of Mottza's ride outs to Walton-on-the-Naze, but some time ago. Hope you are doing ok.
The prospect of a 350 is indeed tantalising. I hope the suspension is a bit better though. These days I ride a GTS and find it more comfy over the bumps than the SH. Quite surprising considering the smaller wheel size of the Vespa. I notice quite a few road testers comment on that too. But overall the SH is still a very nice bike and good workhorse. I put it in the same category as the Vespa GTS regarding it's purposeful design and reliability, although some of my friends with the 300 SH have had quite a bit of electrical trouble regarding switches and looms. Probably not too dissimilar to some earlier GTS bikes I'm guessing. If you get one when they eventually show up do make sure to do a full write up on it. Take care mate! data (one of the MM brigade) |

Perhaps
I'll wait for a ride review. Be interesting to see the performance, acceleration, and top speed. Hard to reconcile the mileage claims with high performance. Looks like the price is going to be around $6-$7K. Certainly would have the benefit of nationwide dealer networks, while Piaggio/Vespa support continues to wane, at least in my part of the country.
I doubt I'd trade my BV350. But if I was a first-time buyer in the market for a new scooter, it'd certainly be attractive. Unfortunately, for the general public, much like the SH150i, overpriced. I bought mine used, at a steep discount. But when you can get a pretty decent motorcycle for the same price as a scooter, most folks will go for the motorcycle. Which is probably why we won't see it here, with very limited projected sales. |

Perhaps...
The same principle of choosing motorcycle / scooter is also valid for all scooter models; generally, those who buy the scooter already have a motorcycle and want a more practical and lighter vehicle. The reason for the increase in displacement is generally caused by stricter anti-pollution regulations that require catalysts that take power off the engines ... And power is one of the aspects that are considered when buying a vehicle, I say that (for example) the Vespa 270 cc engine whose maximum power cannot go beyond 24 hp for reasons of strength and consumption, if there are further anti-pollution restrictions it will have to reduce power. Honda SH 350 has increased the displacement (a little) and the power (a little) to stay on the market, if you don't know, the SH 150 has also increased the power by about one and a half horsepower ... more they couldn't do. |

Probably not coming to the U.S., but perhaps more reliable than the BV350? I don't know much about BV reliability, but Hondas (cars and motorcycles) have a reputation for superior reliability here in the U.S.

Take care mate! data (one of the MM brigade) I still have the SH300 now with 5000 plus miles.... not bad for a 2011 model so far no problems just replace the tyres as the ones that came with it when I bought it new were no good for the glass smooth roads here in Malta and were sliding all over the place and a new battery is all that it's needed. Will I buy the 350 version?...will see if I can get a test ride if they get here and will report back. Stay safe |

I used the Contact Us link at Honda Powersports to ask if the SH350 was coming to the US. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, no reply yet.

as someone who currently has a 2011 sh300, owned a 2013 bv350 and has done around 35k miles on both i feel like i can probably contribute
Lets do a comparison between both bikes. note i commute around 300 miles a week so the mileage takes its toll Pros for the SH - electrical connections are much better quality than the bv and are more suited to the scottish winters and road salt. note i now apply acf50 to all the electrics which keeps corrosion off! -access for maintenance is a breeze on the SH. its two screws and remove one panel for access to the head to do a valve clearance check. did i mention its old fashioned locknut and screws vs bucket under shim adjusters? - the flat floor! the space isn't massive but it helps carry awkward items that you couldn't do on the bv - drive belts seemed to last much longer on the sh vs the bv. maybe i rode the bv too fast! - the linked brakes on the sh are incredible. stopping power is immense! - desipte the ride being harsh especially over potholes when you are pushing the bike it feels composed especially at high speed cornering. i always felt the bv's chassis/suspension was overpowered by its engine. but man that engine! - all the plastic connectors on the body panels are better quality, i've broken a few on th bv over the years and have yet to break one on the sh! - space for your knee's is more cramped vs the bv. price to pay for a smaller bike! - parts availability in the UK is better, ironic considering the SH is made in italy! - the workshop manual is better on the SH. less bad italian translations and more pictures! Makes a difference when you are an inexperienced scooter mechanic. Cons for the SH/Pros for the BV -engine on the bv has more power, better fuel economy, and more refined. its such a peach. but it doesn't takes a weird oil viscosity compared to the SH which is more expensive! -fuel filler is under the seat vs inbetween your legs. you have to get off for fuel ups! when you are filling up 3 times a week it adds up - underseat storage much less relative to the BV - fuel tank is smaller compared to the bv, less miles between fillups - the tyre size is 16 inch which restricts you to only a few options! - no temp gauge but i think thats been fixed on the new one! - no traction control on the sh, think its on the newer ones though. i actually ended up highsiding the sh when taking off from a junction and slipping the back wheel on a man hole cover. embarrassing and some scratched plastic. traction control would have saved my bad reactions! |

The problem of the availability of Piaggio spare parts is also a problem in Italy ....
In general it is a problem on all vehicles, it seems to be an all-Italian disease to make spare parts available in a short time. Often I buy spare parts on foreign sites to have a faster delivery. |

as long time (since 1955) high mileage rider....Motorcylist but on 11th new maxi scooter since 1990----this bike interests me-----lots of Honda dealers in N America----looks like the buffeting on maxi scooters (not Vespa) might be cured as nose appears to be close to tip of shield. Wonder if rear wheel easy to get off? Scooter market dead in US---so Honda may not waste time/money bringing it here
