I think this just blew my mind... 306cc... can you imagine what that would be like? I can't afford to imagine it but wow, what a motor.

Not sure if it's just me, but is that motor wider? Maybe to fit an extra gear?

It sounds like the big bore 2 stroke motocross bikes back in the day. What's it like going 100 MPH on 10 inch wheels and a PX body? Anyone?

The 300cc engine is just what I need, me thinks the wife might object though as looking at the engine someone has been very clever with the aluminum moulding plus a lot of machine work to get the desired result, it looks fantastic, however would it not be cheaper to buy a Harley Davidson ?

That's exactly what I didn't need to see. Another thing I want but can't have.

Where is the fun in that? Think of all the wtf from people at the lights or on the freeway when they see you doing that kind of speed on a scooter

The 200 small frame case is about €620, and that's cast rather than CNC'd. Not sure which process would be cheaper. The cylinder kit for it is €590. I imagine that most of the other parts are unique as well, including the clutch Patrick wondered about... maybe all up it might be €4,000? Who knows?

Edit: Just saw on Scooterotica the BSG Corse smallframe CNC'd case cost about €3000 a year or so ago... so better revise that estimate up... way up.

That mad ITALIAN (not German) that does falc was looking at doing a full T5 engine. Long strike, custom strengthenedgears and clutch, bout 200cc and 40bhp. Plug and play. Just mount the thing. 3 grand or so he reckoned. That's the one I would want

Hmmm just read on scooterotica that he has shelved the t5 falc the project. Ah well, I didn't have the money anyway

jacko .... was chatting to me mate n one of his n they got onto the gilerra 180 conversion on a t5 .... he was saying all you have to do is re locate the engine studs .... cant find nowt on tinterweb about it .... aparently its as good as the falc t5 but waaaay cheaper

Can't remember what cylinder that was for.

From my interpretation of google's translating, a few problems are the Christmas tree and cruiciform under that much power. Amazing though, I guess it pops wheelies at anything more than 1/4 throttle.

Even more impressive is that it's air cooled.

I think that a longer rod was used to overcome the thickness of the plate... from (sketchy) memory. That's actually Lake Gardiner, South Australia. He's had trouble finding somewhere to practice for these sort of runs and he ends up making adjustments at the event. The PX doesn't have any aerodynamic aids, and unlike the 100mph Scooter events they run in the UK where they compete on aeroplane runways, it's on salt... which would have to make a real difference. Many of the higher-placed scooters in the UK are also cut down, semi-prone types. He had to get the rules altered to allow him to run 10" wheels, something that they had never had before at that event. He has a supercharger to go on but ran out of time to get it set up this year. He told me also that ideally he should have 70kg of lead on the front for stability but decided on 40kg as a compromise. Really interesting guy to talk to.

So a 300cc bike would be nuts with it's 0to60 times but it looks impossible for a vintage Vespa could will ever go 100MPh down a freeway. Personally I wouldn't want to. Too fast on an old school scooter.

Claude, there are a few folks that broke 100mph on a vintage.

In that article the dude mentions he thinks he needs 35hp at 9500rpm with his gearing to pull 100mph. A quick youtube search pulls up a dyno of someone getting 47hp at 12500rpms with a 150cc bsg smallie motor. I would imagine if properly tuned, the possibilities of a 300cc motor such as this in the right hands could pull 100mph with not too much thought.
