So, I just bought an update scooter - thought I wouldn't need to replace Sofia but she's being a bit naughty and this 3 year old 3000km scooter came up on our local version of eBay called Trade Me. It was an auction but I pulled the trigger on the Buy Now price so as to avoid the "spending too much in the heat of battle".
I pick it up next Tuesday and will be riding it home from Christchurch to Hamilton, a distance of 950km (nearly 600 miles).
I will take a few pictures and post them here after I get home.

Congrats! I'm looking forward to your photos and ride report!

Is Sofia your GT200? What happened to her?

Thanks, I will do my best.

Sofia is indeed my GT200. She has has problems with using a lot of fuel since about the beginning of 2020. I have had her at the shop and they have leaned the mixture back as far as reasonable, but she continues to average less than 70 imperial mpg whereas the was always over that whatever I used her for. She also developed the habit of cutting out randomly as I slowed for traffic lights or STOP signs. She always restarts instantly and the local Vespa man suggests she is overfueling and flooding as I slow down.
We (my wife and I) had talked a little about updating and this GTS came up with low kms and so I pulled the trigger and will take the carburettor apart to look for clues on Sofia, and make sure there are no air leaks or other reasons for her behaviour.
It's just coming into good scooter selling weather so I will take the opportunity to offer an early Christmas present for someone.

Congrats on the new scoot, and enjoy that ride home! You are so going to like that 300 with fuel injection. And, the white is nice!
