I'm in the market for a BV350. I found a 2013 for sale supposed to have only 616 miles on it since new. This sounds improbable, so how can I be sure? Is there a way to check on the actual miles?

That's more possible than you might imagine - especially in the 'richer' parts of CA. People buy on a whim, or are given one as a gift, then find they prefer to be in their mobile cages.

With that low mileage (and I would believe it) I suspect it won't even have had its first service - so if you buy it (and why not if the price is right) you'll need to get that done AND replace all the other fluids (coolant and brake fluid) and the tires. I'd run with the old belt, but replace that early, say in 6,000 miles.

Correct me if I’m wrong, weren’t there some issues with the ‘13? On the other hand if the deal was right it wouldn’t matter. Tires should probably be thoroughly checked as they are 7-8 years in storage.

Check for wear on tires, floorboards, hand grips etc. They will show true mileage

When I bought my 2013 back in 2016, it had 1200 miles on it. I was told that the original owner would buy a scooter, use it for about 1000-1500 miles, then trade it in.

I'd also recommend checking the freeze plug. When mine went bad a month after I bought it, requiring a top end rebuild.

Used Scoots with Low Miles
Jimc is correct. There are numerous two wheeled machines out in the market that have hardly been driven.

The original owner idealizes a great riding adventure then simply doesn't get out to ride. They stay unridden in the garage and collect dust.

These machines may be the best value buy. You simply get a new bike and
pay 30-50% less for it.

Also, already posted, you really need to hit it hard with maintenance. Tires rot,
fluids get old. The gas in the tank could be bad.
