Heck yeah! Perfectly in line with the Mad Max / Pinhead theme!

Jeff, you never let the facts ruin a good story, I see.

I was just assisting. Did a little bit of hammering here and there. That was it.
Got a lot done. Body is in great shape. Media blast next to see all what’s under the ‘makeup’ and bondo....

Good call!
End this divisive and needless controversy whilst avoiding boring stock colours.

Blatant subterfuge. I was informed, via third party, that you were instrumental in forming of the body back to something recognized as an SS180, many facets. Several levels.

I was also informed that beers may or may not have been had. Some of those beers may or may not have been from the greater Los angles area. Allegedly.

Great work all around guys.

Totally!!!

And that FMB101 blonde ale is the business....

Also... just to avoid rage PMs, hate, and scorn.... No, I am not really gonna paint it black.
(Allegedly.)

*purportedly* some los angeles based beer may, or may not have made it to the houston area. however, let it be known, this has no direct effect on the color choice of said vehicle.

I have an opinion.

I fell in love with the SS because of the pictures in the Vespa: Style in Motion book. I think you know what I mean here. This, to me, represents the One True 180SS.

I'd be hard not to go with that original red from the book. That is sweet! And brings it back to it's roots.

Noted.
The original red is pretty stunning. Usually you see the brighter reds of later model years. The early, deeper red was dead sexy.

—————

Floor rails - anyone know the width, or can you measure the width for me. (Same as a Rally or Sprint I believe.)

I have some nice mecur repops that came with this and appear to have been fitted, but they seem wider than I recall, almost too wide. Measuring in at 18mm.

TIA!

Also, I want to be clear that this is just an opinion, and I am in no way trying to exert undue influence. That said, if you don't paint it red, I will fly to Texas and break into your garage and rattle-can it myself.

Just sayin'.

Really Jess... This would almost be worth it just to see ya and swill a bottle of vino with you and your paint stained fingertips.

Hi Birdsnest,

Rails on my SS measured 18.6mm if it helps.

Best,

So, we are done here... Scoot will be Max Meyer Rosso 1.298.5857... or henceforth “Swingline Red”.

Glad that is sorted.

Color. So it's been decided? OK, cool.

I must admit, both colors are amazing, you cant' go wrong.

Figure you should get a vote from your two canine 'garage helpers', Squirrel and Lou, as they will be seeing it a lot.

I lean a bit towards blue, because it is the least seen SS color out there, but then again, my vote may not count as I probably see the world in a similar fashion as Squirrel and Lou do. (see my screen-name)

Swingline
Needs to be the tail logo above the the tailight!

So office space jokes aside...
-------
The idea of bringing it back to something close to original has always been very appealing. Now, I cant even imagine a concourse resto, but this thing had so many of the hens teeth included, that it is a fairly easy lift to get it close... and...AND the OG red is the best red Vespa did!

If we ever finish the body work and get this ting to paint it will look A-MAZ-ING.
-------
OK... one more office space joke-
custom plate?

Big mama and the squrl dogs care about as much as my troop of four legged fuzzies!

(Spoiler alert, it’s zero point zero)

And while I’ll paddle in that canoe with you. Cuz I loves me them greens and blues. I think this one has to go red...

It’s leave a penny and take a penny. But it’s like a PERCENTAGE of a penny. Why is that so bad?

Totally. That's a Swingline 711 and as everyone should know, the Red Swingline is a Swingline 747.

You don't want to look like a bodge.
