![]() Two completely different bikes in reality but is was still interesting to see their opinions. A Trail 125 vs. a Monkey bike would have been a better comparison. What would you compare the ADV 150 with? Maybe a Lance Cabo 200i? I've been watching TW200 vs. VanVan200 reviews lately.

![]() I had fun playing "San Pedro/Long Beach Scooter Tag" with the photos in the article.
![]() Still trying to place the "off-road" shots, though. Friendship Park (Deane Dana Friendship Natural Area), maybe? Not too surprised they mostly preferred the scooter. |
![]() Real off-road
I occasionally have the opportunity to ride on dirt-bike trails. I suspect the Trail 125 woud be far superior in that environment. Sometimes wheel (and foot) placement is critical in that environment. Easier to see and do on the bike. Much like my old XR650, less fun to ride there, more fun when I get there.

Total Bummer, i don’t want to deal with tubes or trying to make them tubeless. And now I find myself reading about the new Kawasaki 2021 klx300sm Supermoto! But I’ll probably get a Monkey. |

![]() Let me just say that, in my world, for a host of reasons, neither of these could replace my dear Melody. However, given the funds, I'd absolutely grab a Trail 125 to keep Mel company over the Winter for tag-team duty, skittering around snowdrifts and trails…a horse I'd certainly find a course for.

![]() Most small enduro bikes are super tall. I got a reality check when the wife and I went to check out the Honda Rally 250. It took me like 15 tries just to swing my leg over it, then my wife couldn't climb onto the back. To much hassle and I know I'll end up dropping it. I'm 5'10" and in decent shape but apparently don't do enough yoga to figure out how to safely mount it! The super motard versions of enduro bikes sit a little bit lower because of the 17" rims.

On the other hand, those 'balloon' tires are pretty much immune to sharp rocks and such... not to nails and glass though. The 125 Monkey is a really comfy bike, just mayby a bit power-challenged. It is actually even comfier than the VanVan, because it has less tight knee angle. What I liked about VanVan was that those tires + a lazy engine could handle anything. It was virtually impossible to go down e.g. in loose gravel, the grip just never ended ![]() |
