Hey all,

I mostly ride vintage motorcycles but I kinda wanna get more into scoots.

My gf has a vintage small frame that I helped get running four years ago or so. We got it for like $1k. It needed a bit of work to get running well and look cool, stripping the turn signals, putting on a euro style tail light, sealing up the carb manifold from air leaking, some rattle can paint touch-ups, etc.

She never rides it, occasionally I do, but a small frame isn't enough for San Francisco roads, IMO.

There is next to nothing on Craigslist around here, aside from restorations starting at like $7k! There's a local vintage dealer Bello Moto with an amazing collection, but prohibitively expensive.

We got the small frame for like $1000 in 2016, I'm having a hard time believing you can't get a vintage vespa for less than $7k.

Is there another marketplace where folks are selling these things? I'm hoping for a little info on where it stands these days in the vintage scooter scene.

First off, Yay Area prices are stupidly expensive.

That said, try, Craigslist in Sac/LA/San Diego, Facebook marketplace and I guess OfferUp. Be prepared for a road trip but you can find reasonably priced projects elsewhere.

I have a 50 special with a 102 kit as well as a P125 with front disk that would go for well under that 7K mark for both.

Not as low as the 1K, but probably in the ballpark you are looking at.
