Modern Vespa

Hi Folks,

A few months ago I picked up this ratty '81 P125X

It has not been on the road for about 15 years.

My intention make sure it's safe and ride it this spring while I wrench on my other projects ('65 V90 and '78 100 sport).

It runs well, starts first kick and all lights work

I was thinking of changing the gear oil, new fuel, new tires/tubes, check the brake shoes (and replace if necessary) and make sure cables are tight.

Am I missing anything - Any other advice on what other maintenance / safety checks I may want to undertake at the same time?

Sounds about right. You may need to clean out the carb, blow out jets, etc. Def the new gas, oil, & tires.

15 years seems like a long time for seals to still seal... I'd be pressure checking it soon (carb off, exhaust off, pressurize and see if it holds pressure).
