Many of you don't know our friend the Floridian, but most of you do. Bob worked at the Kennedy Space Center until he retired a few years ago. He put together a project that sent Snoopy around the world with MV'rs. After his great adventures Snoopy ended up at the Space museum at the cape.

Often he would "go dark" for extended periods of time as he would go into the bunker and had no contact with the outside world.

He has been dark recently because he has sickness in the family as his wife Crystal is fighting a rare form of cancer.

He asked me to share this with you.

Itís been a rough go for Crystal. Almost lost her after her first chemo. She went into respiratory arrest within an hour of the first infusion. Fortunately, the Moffitt team was able to revive her. She spent two weeks in icu. Soon after the the second chemo, blood counts crashed and she was back in the hospital. I just got her home last night and sheís resting. Next chemo is Thursday, the 3rd of 6 that are planned. Problems are because of the unusual strength of the chemo to fight the rare form of blood cancer. If we complete the chemo regimen with a remission, a bone marrow transplant will be done immediately in Tampa.

We wish Crystal and him great success with her treatments and will keep her in our prayers.

Whereís Snoopy - The End.

With all this SpaceX stuff going on at the moment, kind of assumed Flordian had 'gone dark' on a mission again

All the very best to Crystal & Bob, and hopes for the best possible outcome

Our highest hope for Flordian and family. Cancer sucks and the treatments are difficult. I hope Crystal can muscle thru them and they are successful.

my big sis
thank you so much for your concern. crystal is my big sis. bob my bro in law. for years they've put me up when working special welding projects at cape for the big b. I pretty much wore out his lx. both bob and crystal always there for me. so sad to see my sis deteriorating like this. tough on her as she goes thru the process. peeps have to understand that bob is so very much structured because of past nasa perfection brain washing. he's really having issues with this because of something he can't control or find a solution. so thankful for our mv peeps for your concerns while they go thru this journey. I'm at their house now and will make sure he see's your posts. youre all the best! jim

Thoughts and prayers to the Floridian and his wife. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 non Hodgkin lymphoma. After a year of chemo and weeks in the hospital they could not get me in remission. Then we found out I was eligible for a brand new treatment called car-t. ( you can look it up). The treatment was successful for the first 6 months then I relapsed. At that time we had to take aggressive measures and they put me back in the hospital for 3 weeks and I was receiving chemo almost everyday.

The next step was a stem cell transplant. Long story short no matches in my family but they did find a match for me in the UK. Itís amazing how this works. Once I was in remission after a heavy dose of chemo it was go time. My donor had to go into the hospital to extract her stem cells and then they were shipped and within 12 hours they were transfusing her stem cells into me. By the way I live in the Kansas City area. That was last November of 2019.

My point is Never Give Up. Being a man of faith and activating all my prayer warriors Iím healed. Iím enjoying life again one day at a time with my kids, grandkids and wife and Iím having fun with all sorts of recreational fun. If you want you can pass this along to the Floridian to encourage him and his wife.

On a side note my dad was in sales all his life and I remember he had a plaque on the wall in his office that read Winners Never Quit and Quitters never win. I hung on to that and here we are. 😀

Best wishes, positive energy waves being sent by MV forum members to you mate Floridian and to your lady.
Interesting timing, I was listening to Weekend edition on the radio & somehow my mind went to thinking of a singer named Anne Murray, I had heard music on the radio growing up in the 70's & i searched now & this song https://youtu.be/B8TRsgyX_D8?t=1373 was playing just as I was reading this post.
Sending good energies

Thanks for sharing about the stem cell work going on. I'm proceeding to get on the list for a kidney transplant for my son. I could include my availability for stem cell donor I guess. Amazing testimony.
